  • even if i hated this guy, i was disappointed because i couldn't use him as a CO...by the way, CAULDER IS COMPLETELY OVERPOWERED!

  • "Nobody gets through Batta the Beast!"

Intelligent Systems sure likes reusing ideas...

Not that it's a bad thing. If something ain't broken, why change it?

  • I was SO DISAPPOINTED he wasn't a playable CO! :(

  • Beast should be the Anti-Caulder.

    Pro players' favorite.

20 % to all stats because he drinks his own piss.

  • He should have been playable instead of Caulder. Cuz only pussies use Caulder.

  • I wanted him to be playable, I love his theme.

  • I had a great idea the other day. What if, when you selected "none" for your CO in a battle, you'd get The Beast, Davis, Cyrus, or Dr. Morris as your CO? None of them would have CO Powers, so the gameplay wouldn't be any different.

  • @killerkirbydude But you wouldn't get the awesome Generic CO music :(

  • @Kholdstarezero

You would with Davis, Cyrus, and Dr. Morris. Only the Beast's would change.

  • ...Macho man Randy Savage?

  • the new villein in aw will be mecha beast with an arny vocie

  • Wow, a minor character has one of the best themes. Awesome.

  • @Kholdstarezero He's hardly that minor, he's the main antagonist for the entire first quarter of the campaign.

  • @MetroidCommando In the grand scheme of the game, the Beast has very VERY little involvement.

  • You wanna see my beast?

I'm talking about my stomach, get your head out of the gutter.

  • This guy looks like he belongs on the A-team. I mean he is a soldier too. Just got kicked out for being to violent...Yea this guy's perfect for A-team.

  • Wasnt his name in the European Version "Drakov" ?

  • Randy Savage + Rambo = Awesome

  • Why wasn't he available as a player CO?

  • @Battleboyz20 They Decided to make Isabella a playable CO even though throughout the campaign you never play as her or against her.

    Unless you count trials.

  • Wow, he looks like someone who was cut from Under The Knife 2.

  • what if beast is the new flak or max

  • @TempuraBoy10 probably flak from the design and the chaotic theme. Haven't played DoR really...

  • @TempuraBoy10 id say he's max after the meteors hit

  • This is what happens when Rambo goes insane

  • The Berserk Hobo

  • If AW had voiceovers, Hulk Hogan would be this guy.

  • Dis guy on the european game is called Sgt. Drakov, Hes probably an ex-hardcore communist

  • @AbacusAce He looks like a 'Nam vet to me. Kind of reminds me of the psycho dude from Platoon, the one with the scar.

  • @AbacusAce I guess that makes some sense he does for some reason remind me of Che Guevera if Che well went frigging insane.

  • This makes me so depressed that I can't use him a a co... sure he's batshit insane and would probably eat the troops his co unit kills, but they let penny command stuff...

  • @th3vampan3z3l0rd

Seriously. I was so hyped to use him, even if it was only gonna be War Room style. But... no? Was Isabella even a CO in the campaign?

So many reasons I ended up hating this game... *laugh*

  • What the fuck?what kind co

is this if can't play as him?

  • me: yay i beat the beast now i can play as..... wait i can't use him as a CO? but his theme was so badass!!!!

  • I love how he was WAY to pro for a CO power.

  • I JUST knew that the beast doesn't wear a top.

  • Where did you get the picture?

  • Why are you not playable?

Power: All units retain at least 5 hp and eliminates all defense stars XD

  • I feel so sorry for Davis. Nobody remembers his name, nobody really cares about him, and THIS is the music they use for him during the mission he shows up in...

  • @RealParadoxBlues

    ... Who?

  • well it looks like max from AW found a new hobby... killing people :(

  • If the Beast was a playable CO, I think they'd give him the Flak/Jugger CO power, just randomly boosting or lowering his damage... Or he'd get some random 'weapon' given to him by Caulder, which could be anything... That would be awesome.

  • @wonderiferoustea I dunno why, but I usually think of him more as having Grimm's power.

Units with 110/90 CO zone stats and his power "makes him fight serious" and actually also plugs his defense gap, bringing it to 150/110. It would suck to have to head him off in the midst of a COP boost...

  • Can't believe they changed his name in the european version.. Wanna know what he's called?

    DRAKOV. WTF?

  • @Ecalyptus90

BLARG IT'S SO DIFFERENT HOW DARE THEY USE A REAL NAME I'M AFRAID OF CHANGE TROLOLOLOL

  • wonder what kind of person he was before the armaggedon at the start of the game

  • @akeldama931 If I had to guess, I'd say he was into knitting. And this song played every time he did it.

  • what one? Caulder? he is already an available CO

  • I was so disappointed when I saw that he wasn't a playable CO

  • it looks like they finally decided to put chuck norris in advanced wars

  • i wanna play with him :(

  • I hated this basterd. He always blowed up my tanks no matter what I did.

I ended up using an Action replay to defeat this asshat.

  • @SamPD2 The Beast laughs at your wimpiness!

Come on guys, we can crush these military bugs with my MASSIVE BICEPS! GRAAAH!

  • @nuseruame But he is Chuck Norris's grandson...

  • @SamPD2 u suck

  • @pantoja535 ... Explain please....

  • ZA BEASTO! *EVA Unit 01 goes Berserk*

"No, shit, not that . . . fuck, run!"

  • i always imagined him to be voiced by hulk hogan in the game, made him even more terrifying...

  • actually advance wars days of ruin should contain Davis, Cyrus and The Beast as CO too. unfair :(

  • @mari0masterXD what about that creepy acolyte guy?

  • I was sooo disapointed that CO's was not a real CO's in the game!

  • Bnet was here

  • 0:39 sounds amazing

  • since when so soliders wear yellow bandaners

  • @KDT008 he's not a soldier anymore

  • Now shall we assume the Beast's intelligence in the way of war?

    I would actually say it's high. :/

He has had prior military training, and was prolly a military nut before hand.

Leading the raiders would make us assume he's the smartest of them. Then through the raids he began accumulating experience against real military officers.

As his group moves he naturally uses offensive strategies.

I see nothing wrong with him as a commander other than being a sociopath.

  • @AssassinMura and the fact that he talks in third person......

  • @nitromick122 Who?Drakov?

  • @OmegaFrappe yesh

  • @AssassinMura leader does not mean smartest it means somewhere between popular (charisma) and capability

  • @kline2239 Who needs popularity when all you do is lead mercenary raids on survivors?

  • @AssassinMura Well, you're assuming he's the leader because he's the smartest. Look at him, isn't it entirely possible they follow him because he's savage or because they fear him?

  • @AvatarFanForLife

He would easily be overran by superior numbers and people act irrationally when under fear so he would've been killed if that were the case. It's far more likely that his leadership is working and what aint broke doesn't need fixing.

  • If there ever was a morden fire emblem then that would the axe fighters like the warrior and berserkers will look like. Simply badass.

  • This song is BEAST

    *slap* OUCH BAD PUN

  • is it just me or the beast is the new flak ?

  • @TheDeagleboy

    perhaps.

  • @TheDeagleboy IF Only beast was playable though... I'd also like the generic soldier as playable

  • Meat Headed idiot

  • This is Davis' theme too, on the one stage featuring Davis.

  • he is totally metal

  • This sounds a bit like Guilty Gear if you ask me ^_^

  • the beast used to be a sergeant in the army. you can find this out when he first talks to caulder.

  • i remeber playing this game demo. all i remeber of it though is cars getting chased by tanks, you being the cars, then getiing more troops.

  • Looks like Rambo on crack. I swear look at those eyes.

  • This song reminds me a lot of the Dynasty Warriors 3 soundtrack.

  • Face the power of Conan the Librarian!

  • What if he was probably a librarian before the meteors stuck?

  • Best CO theme imo

  • both this game and dual strike sound great with a good set of earphones

  • so im thinking... did beast have the creeper? cause he was always complaining about his pains out of battle?

ya i wish he was a CO, even though he didnt seem to be in the campaign enough sadly, he had good characteristics relating deeply to the games plot and shadiness

  • He did have something in mission like 7 Caulder offers him some medicine for it

  • this says to me... "its time to kick ass and chew bubble gum... AND I'M ALL OUT OF GUM!!!"

  • @matrixbullettime3 I second that....The beast is..well, a beast. He's got littler philosophical thought about him. He just does what he feels like and likes seeing this burn.

  • Some people can't be bargained with... Some people just want to watch the world burn...

Driven mad by the meteors? Or was he evil all along and the meteors just set The Beast loose? Maybe we'll never know...

  • great ripoff from the Dark Knight

  • People cant quote other works when applicable now without being called ripoffs?

  • @metaXzero it would be nicer if you apply as well the origin of the work

  • Every damn time in passing discussions?

  • @metaXzero of course, wouldnt want other ppl ripping u off of ur originality

  • Using a quote is not stealing it until you claim it as your own. You dont need to bring up the orgin every damn time to show you arent stealing it. Thats just tedious. Especially ones like that one that most would know its orgin regardless As far as I know, their isn't a trademark on using words and phrases in simple conversation.

"Hey! You said a phrase I used in a book while talking to your friend! Imma take all your monies"

  • @metaXzero even if you have no interest in claiming it as your own, some people might see it that way. Everyone who types something of unique and original value without naming its origin obviously it is claiming it as his own, even though he/she might not mean it on purpose. Even though "most" would know, what about the other ones that dont? .

  • So the person using the quote should be at fault for the ignorant assuming stuff instead of getting their facts straight by saying something to the quote user in question?

Me saying "May the Force be with you" without saying "this quote came from Star Wars" does not automatically mean "I made that phrase by myself". Those who assume such are at fault.

  • @metaXzero Well what if those who assume that quote came from you, are they at fault? Would they be ignorant as well? I mean they are acquiring false facts from you since they believe "May the Force be with you" is your quote as noted by you.

  • Yes they would. I didn't say "I made that phrase", but they assumed that I did and went around saying "metaXzero made the quote "may the Force be with you"". They put words in my mouth in this hypothetical scenario. I'll only be at fault if I actually claim it as such. Otherwise it's there ignorance combined with their decision to not ask about the quote.

  • @metaXzero Now just like it would be bothersome to add the origin of the works, it would be even more bothersome to find whoever wrote/said it, and ask him/her if it was his/hers. If someone uses a quote from someone is it automatically using it as his/her own even if he/she might not mean it that way.

  • Lets compare.

We can have those curious about the origin of a quote asking who they heard say it tell its origin so that it's only brought up when people ask. OR we could have everyone who uses quotes say its orgin everytime even when majority of those around know most of the time. IDK, but I like the one where people dont needlessly add on at-the-moment irrelevent (and sometimes obvious) info. Those who percieve using quotes as claiming them are putting words into those peoples mouths

  • @metaXzero Lets compare, whats more bothersome: Writing down the origin of the quote or letting the reader find out on its own? The "obvious stuff" that you are talking about it is too broad, I could say something unheard on your part and the first thought on you mind would be your opinion on the quote, not whether it was mine or not, because you automatically assume it is mine because you heard it first from me.

  • "hey guy? Where'd you get that phrase?" Or "I wonder what happens when I Google it" compared to "I'm going to say the origin of this quote everytime I use it just so that one or two guys who for some reason won't ask me where I got it or just look it up if they are that curious won't spread lies about me". Hmm....

Not everyone assumes that everything someone says was made by them.

  • @metaXzero What if him/she do not answer back or cannot contact neither and the Internet does not give you a simplified answer of your search? Those one or two guys will not necessarily spread lies about you, but will surely carry in mind a lie. Of course that "Not everyone assumes that everything someone says was made by them." but "Everyone who have only heard it from you will assume it is from you."

  • The only way the Internet does not give an answer is when the origin of the quote is so damn obscure that its like that one person and the creator are the only ones who knew of it. Something like that Batman quote will pop up easy.

A lie they themselves created. It'd be one thing if they just said "I heard the quote first from that guy", but to go and say "They must have created it" and then blaming them or defaming them when they learned the truth is again putting words in their mouth.

  • @metaXzero So what you are telling me is that if you would have not known that the Batman quote was from Batman and use it as your own, you are a liar? Would I still be blaming and defaming you for claming that quote as your own? It is instinct to assume "They created it" because human nature wonders on its meaning, not on its origin.

  • Wait. Are you saying in a scenario that I created the same quote without knowing Batman made it before, my view mandates that I'd be a liar? No.That would just make me ignorant and a victim of coincedence.

You'd be defaming me for claiming I created the quote to those who know the truth. And you'd be blaming me for your assumptions upon learning the truth.

Wouldn't that actually mean human nature by itself wouldn't give much thought about the origin?

  • @metaXzero A victim of coincedence, yes. An ignorant, no, because you acquire information from a resource which its author is not applying the origin of his/her material, thus the author from which you acquire your info would be at fault. Human nature observes the quote though as to identify its meaning upon being seen the very first time, the second time though, it would trace back to the first time being heard, then applying its past meaning on the current situation, if any.

  • Ignorance is simply lacking knowledge of something. Being uninformed. Lacking the knowledge that a Batman movie made the phrase first makes me ignorant in that scenario.

The first person you hear say it isn't at fault for your assumptions. Tracing back to the first time you heard it doesn't mean you assume the first person you heard it made the phrase. They introduced it to you and that's it. Your view on it's origin goes to you and your mind.

  • @metaXzero Ignorance is not being able to accept other peoples ideals as to neglet them without evaluation. So it does not make you ignorant, just unlucky and unfortunate that he/she did not do enough research to verify his claim. Of course that person will be at fault for not only using it without properly quoting other people's quotes. This will misguide future readers who might use it as reference to support their own claims.

  • Where'd you get your definition? Mine's is the one I was raised up on and the one I see all over Google searches. I don't see yours elsewhere.

ONCE again, if their not claiming that they made the quote, they are not at fault for others assuming they did. Sure, if they were making a report, book or something they'd be guilty of plagiarism if they didn't list their sources, but a simple conversation or reply on a subject is not something where you make a concious effort to list sources.

  • @metaXzero Well ignorant, comes from ignore (news flash), but I have not looked in the dictionary and it could have a different meaning. They are at fault because since they said it, the readers' only way to use it as a reference is to mark them as the authors thus making them also prone for the authors' mistake. Everything written and said could be use a reference to support a claim.

  • Where that info come from? It'd make sense with your definition. But alas, I can't even find your definition of ignorant.

These replies arent literary work. It's just people speaking their mind on a particular subject while sharing their opinions with others. If the "reader" is semi-inteligent, they'd at least do a little research on the quote rather then go "I heard it from that guy. THEY MADE IT OMG!" then getting stuffy. It's not that hard to at least Google or just ask the guy.

  • @metaXzero Everything said or written is regarded as information, whether it is useful or not (rarely the case). People gather information depending on their interest, as a matter of fact, people's opinions are use in the census. But there we are jumping in another topic. If you do not see it as important, then thats your opinion and I respect that as everyone would. Then again, would you rather save the reader time or avoid him taking up your time

  • I'd rather not take up my own time constantly listing the sources of any references I make to works when no one asked or its not relevent to the subject at hand. But that's just me...

  • @metaXzero Ok then what if someone asks you? Wouldn't that take up your time either way?

  • Of course, but they asked for the info. It was relevent to their interests. Their is no guarantee they someone will always be someone ignorant of the quote's origins. But me saying them everytime assumes their always is and always takes up my time even if didn't have to be that way.

  • @metaXzero I cannot understand what you said in the end, but at least you understand what I mean, I guess.

  • Goddang my sleepness

I meant that assuming someone is not knowledgeable of a reference and explaining it everytime will always take up my time while being asked about it will only take up my time when needed.

  • @metaXzero There we are you understand my point, I think, as I understand yours.

  • am i the only one who thinks of "naked snake" from MGS3?

  • if he blacked up then yeah

  • not the greatest ever

  • Its Rambo!

  • i cannot beat the part where they find the base and face him

  • @keyswordify Try making a stand in the middle. Pull your front units back and put your missle launcher in the crook of that middle mountain. Use a bunch of B copters to get the war tank. and load your foot soldiers unto your rigs to carry them further. Pull your air units in closer to the mass. Just keep dishing out tanks and b copters. Don't try to engage the enemy until you're sure you've got the power to get him. I got an "S" doing this.

  • seriously? All of the beast levels are easy... well at least for those who have played advanced wars since the first one on Game boy advanced. If your struggling on the beast, quit now because the game gets 100 times harder.

  • Mission 10 the first time I played it I ended in a permanent stalemate but the next time I did in about 10 days (and forgot to save -.-')

  • The best seems like such a reference fire emblem! At the beginning of every fire emblem game, you always fight axe users, and the beast's symbol is an axe. And don't forget about Batta "The Beast"!

  • @elbowmacaroni68 He is Batta. Just a lot bulkier with a full body tan.

  • The beast should have been playable. His theme is so awesome!

  • War lesson number one, punk! NEVER CARE!!!

    SWARM, ROACHES!

  • what is sri lanka?

  • @xxxdoppelgangerxxx

a small island located just south of india

  • "THERE'S NO LAW BUT THE BEAST'S LAW!"

  • @johndill90 So technically didn't we... Betray the Law?

  • woah. he really went overboard, didn't he? WAAAAAAAAY more than colonel Blintz did... (army men RTS)

  • I wish he was unlockable. He rules. Quite annoying though.

  • almost everyone does. the last level wasnt hard. so dont brag in comment chains.

  • lol i must ask. Hen I finished the game I was wondering what in the hell happened this guy. xD

  • he simply died in chapter 10. thats it

  • 0:40

    \m/ -_- \m/

  • this is so heavy and wet with the notes you cant dry it up with starch

  • or a shamwow

  • I thought there would be more Raider COs. oh well time to giv this Bitch a beating.

  • Inorite. Raider COs would've made this game just godly. O_o

What would their CO effects be? Beast's would be something along the lines of 3 star CO range. 5 star attack boost 0 defense. However as an added effect everyone in their CO zone loses 3 stars of defense. Beast's co power takes ALL of the unit's defense reduces it to 0 and adds it to their attack.. think ultimate omega terrain tactics with losing defense. :O

  • And their CO power name would have been something like "Dominant Predator"- would've been so badass- That's why I wish Davis and Beast were playable....

  • it would be epic of not only Davis and Beast were actual COs, but also Cyrus. Since he is the son of Caulder, he would probably have a powerful CO power like Tabitha.

  • @mechwarreir2

I also agree that Cyrus should of been a CO. =P

  • I always thought of Cyrus as a "Sonya" kind of CO because of his gentle personality. Tactics, rather than raw power.

  • i got A rank on the final stage

  • well i played through this game to like 2 lvls before the end.. or something like that.. all i know is that i got past this airplane part.. and well then my bro lost my game.. not that hard of a game.. a few mistakes that threw me into a hard situation but over all.. u can outsmart the comp... i wanted to play this game in hard.. but my bro had to lose the game where i was actually stuck DX

  • Crap, that has got to suck.

  • Dude, the last stage is like... damn hard. I'm dead serious.

  • lol... thats the way i like it XD, the more impossible the more satisfying when i beat it lol XD

  • toughen up!

  • I'm pretty sure this game doesn't have a hard mode. So you shouldn't feel too bad.

  • i beat it and unlocked caulder no hard mode or anything

  • I'm glad you just had to beat Caulder to get him instead of having to play through a hard mode (which would have been annoying). Though I would have liked a hard mode just for the the challenge.
