I don't care for these new style forms. they've become TOO standardized. There's more emphasis on the difficulty moves nowadys then the use of the weapon, or style. They're totally great athletes, nonetheless but I don't care for what Wushu in China has become of. Does anyone else feel the same?

I prefered the older style of wushu also. I think these athletes pull off some harder moves but many of them don't seem to really feel the form as much as past artists and it has alot less traditional kung fu in it. I still think both are awesome though.

I guess I would have chosen him as the champion, lost controle partial on a landing but other than that his form was more fluid and flawless than the others, leg height was decent too, compared to the others, But I still feel number 7 was judged poorly.

it is true however with the political stuff, cuz the shang dong team also used up over a million yuan to let their female nan quan'er win, just becuz the next nationals is held in ji nan (shang dong province) and i didn't even think she was the best (she was very good though) but this yuan xiao cao i think sux, nothing compared to zhao qing jian or yang yu hong etc ( too bad yang yu hong made some big mistakes at dao and gun)

I know at least 3 people that are better than him (oa zhao qing jian zhao jie etc those top people) , with speed, stances, nan du lvl, btw he got some small flaws too with the front split landing. and his style sucks, stances are ugly.

The judges did what they had to. The other competitors had either major mistakes or minor flaws during their routines. This was the more complete and accident-less routine. He deserved to win.
