i think this band was largely a one-hit wonder even though they've had multiple commercially good songs...their best song by far is "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)"...a few other songs like this one are good but can't seem to live up to that one
Music has ALWAYS been about sex and drugs (Sex, Drugs and Rock'n'Roll), it's just that nowadays the sex part has become more explicit and in your face. Back in the 50s Elvis got in trouble for swaying his hips to the music - that's nothing compared to these days. The term "rock'n'roll IS slang for sex.
It all been going downhill faster ever since record companies and producers started assembling groups of pretty boys and girls to sing "prepackaged" "music".
@jhr459 They were really big back in the early 2000's. But once they got a new singer they kinda dropped off the earth, cuz people recognized Fuel through Brett, their old singer.
I think we should get all these REAL bands and have them perform one day for free to promote what REAL music should be about and not this bullshit people are listening to these days, it's sad to see that music has fallen so low these days
this song influenced how i see the world today, everybody feels the burden of lifesometimes. i once was selfish, i thought i could be better. i was right.
"i might save my world.. all you dream...your beautiful sky , falls on me"
these guys were so good and somehow landed under the radar - I guess they just didn't have that Beyonce' bullshit market value - talent doesn't mean anything anymore! It;s sad!!
@hellooo42971 really? why must you do that? Every single country has people that say stupid shit but the second American do something dumb or mislead WE get jumped on. but God forbid if WE jump on anyone else. then were just evil.
@A1ph4W01f Calm down, lad. It was a joke. You're supposed to laugh. When people make fun of my country (in my case Spain, but I've been in Britain, hence why I speak some English.) The top comments were just funny... gosh.
shadow wolves I agree with you, but what exactly was your point with the buddy holly thing? The name of the song was actually american pie by don maclean. I am orginally from Clear lake Iowa which is ten miles from where the plane went down with buddy holly, and the big bopper. Clear lake has an annual celebration of hoolys life. Music doesnt die nor is it forgotten. There will always be someone out there that keeps the legends alive.
Holy shit! ITS BEEN SO LONG! I stopped looking for this song about a year ago and I HAVE FINALLY FOUND IT!!! YES! lol my mom used to play this music when she would garden. My god those were the days... Now we live in an apartment and life is shitty because I'm old enough too know what the hell is going on. I accept it and live on because I have these great memories! :D
HEY Im 96 years old and all my friends that arent dead prefer lawrence welk and benny goodman but I like listening to FUEL! Dang nammit I'm the only feller in my old folks home that appreciates 90's rock!
I'm 17, but does that really matter? Music will exist throughout time. I still listen to Beethoven.. It only depends on how it sounds. You think all the shit music will have a chance in the future? No one will care what the singers looked like; and in the event they do, they'll look goofy. The extremely long hair thing was cool back in the 80's, but it just looks goofy now. And why do we still listen to 80's music today? Not because the singer's "Look Good" It's because the music sounds good.
@Burnyoursins I always got the impression that afros, hair picks, and such where more popular in the 70's. Again, I said I'm 17, I wasn't there, lol. And it's really a matter of opinion if the extremely long hair is good looking or not. But this is all digression and doesn't apply to the point I was trying to get across. I mean to say, Music is timeless, and only good music will last. Even if something terrible is popular now, it probably won't be in the future.

umm i dont think having words that are the same counts as a rip off... and honestly i like Collective soul but I like this better than heavy. Ur user name already suggests that u would be bias... do you think Fuel is the devil by any chance?
@RidetheMessiah UM, not really, and collective soul is a really cheap "rock" band to begin with. I'd say soft rock at best.. Cheap wine vocals turned sour..
im only 19 and all i have to say is all you younger kids need to love this music cuz it isnt around long, i was 10 when this came out and dont know where this kind of music went...so appreciate it
@bkrueger17 Same here, I'm 19 and fuel is one of my favorite bands. Music like this no longer around because people lost their ear for good music and only focus on which bands will bring in cash
@bkrueger17 hell yeah man, i was 13 at the time lol, i go with the years until 2010 since thats when i turned 20 lol. so i went with the 90's more than ever, kids born after 1990 yeah they went with the 90's but honestly man, nothing gets better than saying you were born in the year when music was great, when music began to mean something.
@blaketriksdurst Dude, If you think that music "began to get good" in the 90's, then are truly as ignorant as your comment. Try listening to 60's, 70's, and 80's music, THEN try to say that the 90's is when it started. The 90's were the DECLINE of good music...
@heathenbreathinfire I'd have to disagree with you, music was great and influential in the 60's and only went down from there. Not to say that the 70's-90's were bad, they just lost some meaning and became more about the profit. There was the occasional good band or artist here and there but music's talent pretty much died out around 2000. There's few good bands out today.
@TheSkittles1001 Music was about the same thing then as it is now: sex, drugs, love, and money. Everybody likes what they like, and every generation has someone claiming that previous generations were better. What one person thinks is good someone else might think is shit. You're entitled to your likes, and so is everyone else. If it was so much better before why did it change?
@gisime1 Music changed because the money was in the younger generation. Pop, Rap, and Techno took over and everything else fell to the side. To keep up with the "times", Rock slowly became more about sex, drugs, and money. It's not a difference in taste as much as in talent and willingness to make music just for the love of it. Music was better in the 60's-90's, people just don't care anymore, it's all about a pay check.
@TheSkittles1001 I agree with you, music has deteriorated in the past decade. However, Rock in the 60's-90's was also about sex, drugs, and money. Rock hasn't tried to keep up with the times. Rock has been and always will be the "times".
@TheSkittles1001 you'r right, and also thoose people who should be lisening to the music are instead playing COD all day n night. They care more about the scores.
@theskittles1101
even then look at the moves elvis did puerly sexual the we have songs like strokin 1 and 1 shit like that from the early 80s

@RidetheMessiah
umm i dont think having words that are the same counts as a rip off... and honestly i like Collective soul but I like this better than heavy. Ur user name already suggests that u would be bias... do you think Fuel is the devil by any chance?
jasvanth 5 months ago
anyone see that the chorus is a cheap, half-assed rip off of collective soul's "heavy"? and this song's title is pretty much the chorus from heavy.
RidetheMessiah 5 months ago
@RidetheMessiah UM, not really, and collective soul is a really cheap "rock" band to begin with. I'd say soft rock at best.. Cheap wine vocals turned sour..

im only 19 and all i have to say is all you younger kids need to love this music cuz it isnt around long, i was 10 when this came out and dont know where this kind of music went...so appreciate it
bkrueger17 5 months ago 84
@bkrueger17 Same here, I'm 19 and fuel is one of my favorite bands. Music like this no longer around because people lost their ear for good music and only focus on which bands will bring in cash

@bkrueger17 I'm only 14 and I TOTALLY agree :) ...
20SecondsToJupiter 4 months ago
@bkrueger17 hell yeah man, i was 13 at the time lol, i go with the years until 2010 since thats when i turned 20 lol. so i went with the 90's more than ever, kids born after 1990 yeah they went with the 90's but honestly man, nothing gets better than saying you were born in the year when music was great, when music began to mean something.
blaketriksdurst 4 months ago 9
@blaketriksdurst Dude, If you think that music "began to get good" in the 90's, then are truly as ignorant as your comment. Try listening to 60's, 70's, and 80's music, THEN try to say that the 90's is when it started. The 90's were the DECLINE of good music...
MrJohnnyboy2284 2 months ago
@MrJohnnyboy2284 I disagree. Music began to decline in the 80's and then a new upswing in the 90's.
heathenbreathinfire 2 months ago in playlist Favorite videos 2
@heathenbreathinfire I'd have to disagree with you, music was great and influential in the 60's and only went down from there. Not to say that the 70's-90's were bad, they just lost some meaning and became more about the profit. There was the occasional good band or artist here and there but music's talent pretty much died out around 2000. There's few good bands out today.
TheSkittles1001 2 months ago
@TheSkittles1001 Music was about the same thing then as it is now: sex, drugs, love, and money. Everybody likes what they like, and every generation has someone claiming that previous generations were better. What one person thinks is good someone else might think is shit. You're entitled to your likes, and so is everyone else. If it was so much better before why did it change?
gisime1 2 months ago
@gisime1 Music changed because the money was in the younger generation. Pop, Rap, and Techno took over and everything else fell to the side. To keep up with the "times", Rock slowly became more about sex, drugs, and money. It's not a difference in taste as much as in talent and willingness to make music just for the love of it. Music was better in the 60's-90's, people just don't care anymore, it's all about a pay check.
TheSkittles1001 2 months ago 67
@TheSkittles1001 I agree with you, music has deteriorated in the past decade. However, Rock in the 60's-90's was also about sex, drugs, and money. Rock hasn't tried to keep up with the times. Rock has been and always will be the "times".

@TheSkittles1001 you'r right, and also thoose people who should be lisening to the music are instead playing COD all day n night. They care more about the scores.
