Dis flute sample is a jazz sample from the early 70s but I can't remember the record. This EP came out in 91 and was one of the first "EPs" ever made. This is some ill shit, though. I upgraded from the Jetta to the Passat by 91 and this was one of the first joints I pumped in there. My boy was a DJ and made a long instrumental off the last minute of this track. I remember older cats comin up asking about this when I would rock it. This fuckin flute is fuckin BANANAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They're up there in my top fav's but I wouldn't say they're the 2nd best duo (w/regard to the DJ & MC). 2nd best-for me-would be a tie Between G. Rap & Polo and Kane & Mister Cee (even though most don't think of Kane & Cee as a duo). I only put G. Rap & Kane in a tied position, b/c Kane borrowed heavily from G. Rap's style, but was more deft w/other rhyme patterns(in the vein of Rakim). You can tell that C.L. Smooth was influenced by Kane & or G. Rap (who were both still big @ the time).
@soundsfromnothing I'll tell you who werean underrated MC and DJ duo, W.C. and DJ Aladdin, aka Low Profile. They only made one album, because I think DJ Aladdin went to Jail, so W.C. formed the M.A.A.D. Circle, with his brother Krazy Toons and Coolio.
I remember buying this is 91. My brother was like, "Man, you be buying stuff from these regular cats." LOL. He wound up liking Pete and CL as much or more than me!!! And I went and bought a used flute just so I could play the flute part of this song. Songs like you chilling in Central Park in like 1971 or something!!! LOL
fucking amazing flute sample
