I'll also never forget when Will did the muscle pose on 1st base when he made the last out in the 89 NLCS against the Cubs and Hank Greenwald's call on KNBR
Ah..... the famous "F Bomb" on live TV. Where me, and probably a *lot* of other people said..... "What did he just say???" :) He's with the Giants front office now, so I'm *sure* he's thrilled with the Series win, but don't forget that after he left the Giants, he played with the Rangers for 4 years, so I'm sure he has a touch of feelings for them, too.
i kept a vcr just because of this video.........funny to see gary park....the tanned man..........will clark will go down as the favorite player of this 48 year and counting giants fan
linasantos is right I'm really trying to think who in baseball plays like that with soul and heart wow a character, crazy, gritty, the Nuschler was the package.
Will The Thrill was the best. He was and is my favorite baseball player ever. Living in San Diego it was sacrilegious for me to like Will Clark but that didn't stop me. When the Giants would come to town I would go to the games and root for Will to rip it up (but root for the Padres to win!). I was lucky enough to catch him and the Cardinals in 2000 when they came through San Diego. Little did I know it would be his last time playing in SD. Is he back working with SF? What is he doing?
Saw his first AB live in single A ball,, He hit a HR in Fresno,,, Eulass park,, maybe his first AB as a pro. Came to my dad's B-party gave him an autographed ball,, My favorite ball player of all time. Injuries kept him out of the hall of fame.. The Giants should retire the #22 He was a ball player, he loved the game... Thank's Will "The Thrill".!!!!

Will Clark is a A - hole! I met him once .. watched him almost spit on a kid (12 years old) who wanted his autograph. Can you believe it? wanted his Autograph ... Love the Giants but what a JERK!
Man i just saw this how funny. Will was my idol growing up, i tried to emulate his swing, the way he kept that chip on his shoulder during the game..everything. He single handedly destroyed the Cubs in that series, i've never since seen 1 player ever take down a team all by himself. You couldn't begin to feel how excited i was when he came to Texas. i live hear and hate the Rangers , but when they had Will they made playoffs nearly every year. He showed them how to win.
This clip was one of my favorite moments growing up with Will throwing F-Bombs on live tv after the clinch. As a 12 year old, I was dying laughing and ofcourse he was and is still is my hero. Absolutly love the guy for what he did for the giants. Always gave a 110% every day. Love ya Will and its great to have you back in the organization. Cheers, Brady
'The Thrill' man what a show, what a player, I saw that Cubs game at the stick with him batting against Mitch Williams limping around the bases... Greatest sports day of my life.
I remember watching this when it happened too. I couldn't believe that he first said the sh*t word, then the f-word on television. It was pretty funny. I remember he apologized for that a day or two later. Too bad the Giants didn't win the series afterwards. Sigh.
Yeah the only thing that matches this moment for me was when Tiger Woods said "Ah Fudge!!! " on NBC after he hooked it (or sliced it) on the 18th tee at Pebble Beach during the US Open at 7 AM. I'm sorry that Will Clark never got to play on the field at Pac Bell during his final season, although he said that would never match playing at Candlestick for him.
I remember Ch 11 also had Tom Janis doing sports, he was their answer to Gary Park. Janis and Park retired from TV before the Sharks came into the NHL. They would have provided good coverage, I know Park covered the Golden State Seals. How was coverage on them? Charlie Findley owned them and they were a lousy team if I remember correctly.
What a genuine moment, whata genuine player, he´s one of the reasons i fell in love with this game, he used to play in an old fashioned way, classic baseball, old fashioned baseball.....god i loved to watch him play, along with George Brett, Mark Grace, Mattingly and that kind of players.
It´s not the same anymore , now they play kind of cold , without soul, i don´t know how to described it.
Still love the game, forever baseball. I´m from Mexico, best regards.
I have been looking for this footage too. I was actually in the clubhouse that evening having snuck in as a fan who stormed the field. What a great time! Do you have any more footage? I know I appear in a lot of it...
WILL THE THRILL! God damn right! And that roundtripper he blasted off Nolan Ryan just happened to be his very first MLB at bat as well. When Will walks away is Zimmer wiping the champagne off his eyes or just rubbing his eyes in disbelief? Great vid of a classic moment!!

Clark was great for a while, then injuries, and a refusal to juice up kept him from competing with all the cheaters.

So then how did you feel when Tony Gwynn JUST edged him out in 89' for the battting title.. .336 t0 .333.
Fuckin BS I say...Clark was WAY above Tony that year, in EVERY catagory! Which is why Clark was at the top for NL MVP as well!

my favorite giant of all time.
first mlb game i ever went to, i met him after the game. only giant who stopped their car outside players parking lot to sign for fans.
first mlb game i ever saw on tv was his first game as well. he took nolan ryan out to CF in astrodome.
i was a fan for life after that moment.
a tragedy that giants decided to let will walk via free agency and kept robby thompson instead.
stupid mistake by giants mgmt
