Just a screwdriver, a knife and 10 minutes, your roomba will be fixed !!!
The manual charging connector must be fixed, there is just a false contact in the ground path inside the connector, and roomba try to dock but the precessor circuit think there is always the power cable attached to the side connector..
just type Debugging and repairing the Roomba in google...
In this case since the Rommba stops on the Home Base, HB, I assume that the HB increases its voltage to 22.5 volts and decreases (POSSIBILITY). What I have seen so far is that the issue can be either the HB or the charging circuitry of the Roomba. Very technical to repair. I had to replace few ICs off the circuit board. To properly do this, you must be equipped with a infrared pre-heater.
If you are in the UK, I can repair this for you for only £49.99.
soooooo...... what do we do if this is the case? i dont know what a diode is. ive taken mine apart and cleaned, and it still does this..... hmmmmm. :(
Mine does the exact same thing. It will dock at the charging station correctly but will not charge every time. I will have to manually move the roomba slightly from left to right on the charger untill I see the amber light start to flash. Usually a quick clean of the contacts and the docking station contacts remedies this for a few more charging cycles. I have noticed on mine sometime the side brush happens to stop spinning directly over the metal contact before trying to charge, maybe trim it?
