  • Lindo video

  • Awesome vid!!!

  • were did you all of this? please respond

  • @coolshadowfan

The video was made on a layout in SE,VA on the edge of the Dismal Swamp. Layout belongs to a fellow club member.

  • @4everford I was meaning the track and train

  • @coolshadowfan I was taking about the trck and train not the video

  • nice layout .

  • dang, I thought the county fair tracks were cool.

  • @Wazlor It's a rich guys toy train set. Most of us are rich and can afford to have these "toy" trains outside on a year-round basis. Damn, some of these comments are just too much!

  • @4everford just dont rub it in dude....

  • What's the track base ?

  • hey what scale is this it looks like HO

  • @commanderbly1

HO? You are kidding? Might be time to get in for an eye check.

This is Gauge 1. Scale from 1:20.3 to 1:32 will operate on this gauge track.

  • @commanderbly1 It's G scale, I think.

    HO Track is't that big.

  • @commanderbly1 HO is what you get at walmart for kids...think hotwheels size...lol

  • LGB?

  • @MegaStealth101

LGB? What's an LGB? Good heavens no.

  • @4everford Lehmann Gross Bahn train company. Made in Germany, nice stuff but they have terrible track for the outdoors

  • @LtHawk77 LGB brass track woulds brilliantly outdoors.

  • @MegaStealth101 Thats Aristocraft track, great stuff

  • @MegaStealth101

Perhaps you mean G Gauge. LGB is a manufacturer of G Gauge model railroad equipment. Gauge 1 is very close in gauge to G gauge.

  • @Dusty754 But in Gauge 1 u can buy better models like the one from Marklin in Germany. The quality of that models are so awsome...

  • @gehnix Wouldn't know. Don't collect them nor do I have a set up. Just some old American Flyer stuff and some HO and N gauge stuff. To me they are just toys.

  • its fantastik i wana have a go with this on

  • how big is this train are?

  • Why dont you just walk the track?

  • Three reasons.

1.We support Street Walkers, not Track Walkers.

2 Layout owners like to see their railroad from track level for better detail.

3.Watching the video and any camera shake identifies rough/misaligned track and switches. Owner's can then make necessary repairs.

  • Gotcha. I was just wondering the reason why people spend $250 to do this but you gave me 3 good ones, thanks!

  • How does it cost?

  • We charge $250.00 to do a track inspection. And that's a bargain! :>)

  • como debo alimentar, un juego qye tengo,....

tengo, 60 vias recatas 40 en curva 6 cambios de via...

    Tengo 58 vagones y 2 maquinas

que eliminador debo colocarle para alimentar toda la maqueta??

  • The layout belongs to Joe Walls. My train doesn't show because it is pushing the camera car.

  • wow is that your train?

  • What do you do if it rains?

  • Run in the rain. Do it all the time. This equipment works in all types of weather. Just depends on how wet you want to get.

  • :48 OMG that poor leaf!!!

  • Ile ty masz torów?

  • dude how much was that?

  • how do you stop the track from rusting?

  • In this case the track is brass. There are generally two types of material used for outdoor track; brass or stainless steel. Of the two, brass is slightly less expensive. Stainless steel is gaining in popularity since it requires minimal cleaning to maintain its electrical conductivity.

  • Although I imagine the lack of conductivity of the SS is a downside, unless you're running feeders to it every so often.

  • @gavinfalconer - I know it's been 2 years, but I couldn't resist.

    BRASS DON'T RUST, BRO!

  • @JBofBrisbane

Actually it does... Just a lot slower than steel.

Those beautiful green statues you see in the park... They're actually rusty brass/bronze statues.

Actually what you can do is just lay a piece of iron/steel/zinc in electical contact with the track and it will make the track reletively rust proof. It's the theory behind galvanised steel, put a less rust proof material in contact with a more rust proof one, and the less rust proof one will be sacrificed in place of the other metal.

  • @JBofBrisbane

Or you can do what the QE2 does, place a negative (I think) over the track and have a sacraficial metal positive charge, and the oxygen will refuse to react with the negatively charged track and go for the positively charged.

  • g scale

  • That's 45mm Gauge 1 track. The owner runs mostly 1:22.5 and 1:29 scale equipment. When I run on his layout the equipement is 1:20 scale. There is no "G" scale. That's a term, applied incorrectly, to any scale equipment being run on Gauge 1 track.

  • nice

  • Stone the crows! It went on for ever!! I kept thinking.. we must have come by this spot before.. does this look like the start??

    Great ride. 8-)

and wait, there's more.. another 40ft?

It must be nice to plonk yourself down up the back there somewhere and wait for a long freight to pass and then it's back to quiet again.

    pls post some more.

  • Holy Cow how long is this layout ? Is it yours?

  • I have no idea. The train was running at 20 SMPH with the speedometer car set for 1:20.3 scale. You can see the length of the video and we did not cover about 40 feet of the layout.
