Ocelot refers to France very often in the games. Here, he mentions that the French were the first to use electrical torture, in MGS2 he says "I never trust a Frenchman!" in referene to his arm transplant and in MGS3 it is implied that he was born on the D-Day on Normandie, in France.

actually the "you haven't saved in a long time" dialog shows that, while this is a game, there can definatly be a real down side to not surrendering. It is either save meryl or go a long way just to get to the same spot.

I used a Preformance made controller that had reg, Rapid-fire, and Auto fire. Rapid fire made 1 button press seem like five, so I still had to keep pressing the button.

3: AutoFire (just hold the button down)

I used the "Turbo button" combined with the "action button" three times from the start, and Ocelot said: -"You're still OKay? Want me to go on? Can you take ONE MORE ?!"
