  • Dear Rockstar,

Where you in any way inspired by Macbeth?

  • Based on the other comments (and watching this video a few times), here' my theory: the main character and Hannah were out doing something. They're probably sisters. Somehow Hannah died and the main character was blamed for her death. At first, she tries to believe that it wasn't her fault, but she eventually realizes that she killed Hannah.

  • Hmm, let me think... @teriinabox, I love your logic (but who is Hannah?). Also, @tmarkelj - that's what I was thinking, but I also had the idea that the green-lit scenes represent a permanent cell - the white-lit room is just a flashback - or perhaps the green-lit room is a premonition? I don't know. Thinking is indeed fun. (Wednesday nerd here - sorry other four but I had to comment before I exploded) <3

  • Lady Macbeth?

  • this idea should be made into a movie.

  • Creepy in a good, awesome, youtubin' way

  • Comment removed

  • You know, when I see this, I think of Lady Macbeth. The red stuff on the hands screams "OUT DAMNED SPOT!" to me.

But I love this video so much! It's very much of a psychological ride, and that's what makes it so interesting and thrilling. Great job, Raquel!

  • this is was fantastic!

  • im gunna not think abou this any more because it makes me scared . . . . you are far to pretty to be so scary.

  • Is it how the guilt of doing something is eating away at her mind over time (the dates and times) and eventually it drives her so mad that she has to realise what she's done?

Very creative, I'll be voting everyday x

  • lady mcbeth comes to mind for me! This was great. lots of luck in next up.

  • I think that the girl believes she did something wrong but is denying it at the same time like everybody would do at first...and the red hand scene going on and off represents her thinking she did it and then reality. Then again maybe she thinks of it as she killed a little girl in her mind and thats her blood. :) I know im not near as close as what this is hahahahahahaha LOVE THIS AMAZING! YOU'RE AMAZING! <3

  • @LivLaffSing Because maybe people are examining her to see if she a true murderer or just plain crazy. that's why she is in a white room with cameras.

  • Ok so I haven't read absolutely all of the comments in detail, but did no-one else notice the DATES???? They are freaking me out the most (yeah, I don't know why). First of all the date is in the future (but soon), which is just creepy and then the date switches to 04/32/11, back to 04/31/11 and briefly to 04/33/11, at one point it is 03/18/11. Not sure if I caught them all. Although 04/31/11 looks like a real date it isn't, so only the last one is real.

  • @sepiasunrise Not sure what any of that means. In fact I've just looked and after 03/18/11, it switches very quickly to 04/31/11 and 04/33/11. The times may be significant too, but I was too transfixed by the dates after I noticed them to really focus on the times, which as far as I observed are all real times. Weird, because I'm normally pretty unobservant about that sort of thing. At the very least time is shifting backwards and forwards and much of it is "unreal" time. Hmmm - anyone?

  • Omg, those sound effect were from big brain academy!

  • oh snap!

    that was intense

    great job!

  • So this is why you asked about the blood last week... haha. And rawr my sub box failed on me and I didn't see this till now.. ugh <3

Anyway, amazing video and crazy creepy!!

  • Took the last jammy dodger and feeling guilty about it, huh, Raquel?

  • I'm schizophrenic so I'm not sure if I'm relating to this in a way I shouldn't be, but I see it as the girl is fighting with her mind, which is trying to convince her of something she is (mostly) sure isn't true. She's metaphorically locked, trapped in a "box" with her subconscious mind

  • This was...wow.

I really like your bow, by the way. (:

  • This is amazing and I would love to see more videos like this in the future. Different, but really interesting.

  • Never wrong The Fair Folk. Their punishments and morality are not meant for mortals, and there is no better oubliette than a day that does not exist.

  • She accidentally killed her little sister or a little girl in the park and then she comes to the realisatio that she did do it and it was on purpose

  • it's a little bit werid, i guess, but is so cool to express what you've got on your mind!

  • Interesting.

This reminded me of Macbeth. . .

  • @supersharayah Me too, that was my first thought, of Lady Macbeth.

  • Unreal. Raquel, you are so talented -- I loved this so much.

It's really great to see you branch out and take creative risks like this. Don't get me wrong; I love the comedy sketches, too :)

Very thought provoking -- is the ambiguity of interpretation part of it?

  • @teriinabox I loved how you found the small details. Your brain is a beautiful one. <3

  • @06KavanaghS haha! this made me laugh. :D

  • @teriinabox This comment is wonderful. <3

  • That was awesome. During the entire thing I kept guessing at where she was--at first I thought it was an asylum or something. Brilliant. :D

  • I love this. I've wanted to see more spooky stuff in my sub list for awhile. :)

  • I really enjoyed the editing on this one. Sure I didn't get it, but I certainly appreciated its artistic quality :)

  • I scared. D:

  • I love this video . You are amazing!

  • One. Huge. Serious. WOW!

  • my gosh, that was amazing. UGH, SO GOOD. i had goosebumps through the entire thing.

  • Killing innocence? For some reason this reminded me of the book To Kill a Mockingbird? I'm not sure why! very interesting though!

  • wow Raquel! I can see why that film school accepted you! Great work! I would be totally willing to see more stuff like this on your main channel as long as we get those heart-felt and fun videos from twonerdsinaboat.

  • Wow, I really love this so creative. Personally I think putting up more creative stuff like this is awesome but I must say I did appreiciate the warning that this video was a little different. Seriously well made though :)

  • very very well done there raquel

  • Looks like she finally cracked...got tired of people calling her "Rachel" lol.

  • Videos like this one are exactly what I love youtube so much. Raquel, you did a great job with this video. I really enjoyed it.

  • towards the end, i see an updated, modern version of lady macbeth.

"what, will these hands ne'er be clean?"

    i love it!

  • @TheDietKiwi exactly my thoughts

  • I really liked this... I can't stop thinking about it. I don't even know what about it grabbed me... but something did!

  • Perhaps she murdered a child... or set a primary school on fire or something.... the laugh is of a little child... and the voices all seem to be childrens voices - in a school or something.... She is trying to deny she did it?

I don't really know but this is fantastic!

  • Amazing. I would definitely like to see more videos like that.

My first idea is that these scene represents her subconscious, where she tries to hide the truth, which is haunting her and is having a conflict with herself (the camera representing introspection), The white walls and the dress is what she wants to believe, but the dark horrible truth is hiding behind that black door and is slowly getting to her (thus the hands).

    Am I close?

  • @tmarkelj Very close!!! I loved how you mentioned the camera representing introspection. 10 points for you!

  • "Out, damn'd spot, out I say!"

  • REALLY loved this! I watched it yesterday and I'm still thinking about it....I love that you left it open to interpretation.

  • If there was a "love" button, I'd click it fourteen times right now...just saying. This is great and very thought-provoking. Nice job!

  • ...So it was YOU who stole my red paint!

That was really mean yaknow :'(

In all seriousness: AWESOME!!! Moar plzkthx ^.^

  • Scary

  • I love it when you do stuff like this. Well done, friend :)

  • The first thought I had was Lady Macbeth too. I love this! It is so well put together, and the colour contrast is incredibly effective. Did you just conveniently have a white room with a black door handy?

  • @brendanlinwood I only discovered the location about two weeks ago! Isn't it perfect?!

  • .....Modern day Lady Macbeth with added babylaughs for creepiness? After all, didn't she convince herself she was innocent? even though she wasn't? I don't remember too well. But the blood on her hands things- deffo a Lady Macbeth thing goin' on there!

  • very very cool, i loved the filming style and the concept, i only wish i was that creative. Very crazy and difficult to interpret the exact meaning, but so awesome. Execution was amazing.

  • i love seeing meaningful, artistic , and serious videos on youtube once in a while. its a nice change, that not many do. they stay inside the comfort zone and stick to parodys (not that thats a bad thing). Nanalew is the only other one i can think of right now that does this too. Your both r up there on my list of fav youtubers because or the diversity and randomness of your videos.

    Great stuff!

The children laughing kinda reminded me of Are you afraid of the dark.

  • @scootsie119 This comment made me smile. <3

  • Wow. Creepy. But in a good way.

  • I agree. This is a lot different than your normal videos.

  • You gave me the jibblies.

  • what about its a girl who just lost a loved one or left on the alter (white dress?? eh??) and blames herself for it to the point that she loses it and she's in the that room for her own safety?

  • Are you a Firefly fan? Definitely reminded me of River Tam. Also Lady Macbeth.

  • I had to turn the speakers down because I got scared.

  • @ThistleFrost haha! Goal accomplished.

  • reminds me of lady macbeth

  • @elffia That's what I thought!

  • Kinda made me think that she had two sides to her - a sweet, innocent but trapped side, and a side that actually did it. Or maybe thought she did it or had had thoughts in the past of murder or hurting people or something along those lines.

Either way, very nicely done. I love the camera angles and the lighting was beautifly done! I also loved your acting, your facial expressions were perfect :D

  • @PaigrRoo Thank you so much! <3

  • LOL, I thought is was going to end with you babysitting some terrible kid... :D

  • Oh, shoo, girl. This was so intense. Fantastic.

  • I see why you got into that film school :) t(not that i had any doubts before) his is amazing! very well thought out and shot and edited and acted. you are truly talented.

  • ah! this was great :D

this is going in my favorites.

  • @Dav1dThe5trange Thanks David! <3

  • This reminds me of season 1 of Dexter, his back story. But not quite. But I dig it the same. Yes, please more like this. I mean... maybe not thriller horror-movie type stuff (not that I'm against that genre), but like... you acting cause you like it.

  • Awesome @ 1:48

    Creepy Raquel is creepy. :D

  • whatever it was that happened, whether she herself was guilty, or she was innocent, either way, she is trapped.

It could be her own consciousness trapping her, while she refuses to acknowledge and accept her mistakes. Or it could be someone else accusing her, even though she knows she's innocent, and in the end, she believes she is guilty.

  • Excellent. You're wonderful, Raquel.

  • Very well-done. Your face reminds me of the classic look of silent screen starlets. I want to see something in black and white!

  • Very well done/edited! Very trippy too! :o

  • Reminds me of that game you can play on AddictingGames where you wake up in a room and have to search for things to help you get out by clicking around.

  • An accident happened when they were younger and she still blames herself. That might just be my interpretation, but really, if we don't face the consequences of our actions (whether we actually did something or we just feel guilty about it), they come back to haunt us.

  • I love it! Very artsy feel and on the dark side, all adds up to a good video.

  • I went insane in the brain when I watched this one Raquel, but I LIKED IT! Cool idea for a video!

  • Wow! Kinda creepy, but really cool! That's a keeper!

  • Super awesome! I thought it was like a girl who was sentenced for life in prison a long time ago for murdering her sister, and after all the time she spent in there, she broke, went insane, and changed her story from innocent to guilty.

  • So she had blood on her hands which was red. And the title is "red-handed." I see what you did there.

Haha, but seriously. I guess I thought she believed she was innocent, but as the video progressed she realized she was the one who killed whoever it was. Perhaps the little girl who laughs? Or maybe that's supposed to represent who she WAS? No idea. Man, thinking is really hard.

  • @Beniqwa Honestly, your thought pattern is so close. Thinking can be fun! ;P

  • I love videos/movies that make you think. It sort of had the feel of 'Macbeth' (what looked like blood on your arms) and 'The Shining' (the sounds of children) to it-- super cool Raquel!

  • Very creative and imaginative! Fantastically edited as well. :]

I feel like this video could have a variety of meanings to it. All well executed. :]

  • @TheTunaNet I think the meaning depends on the viewer.

  • reminded me of the ending to the movie 'the uninvited'

  • @maritzadorado I liked that movie.

  • This was incredible and disorientating. I loved it :D

  • This is scary, confusing and weird...I like it

  • Um...that was a very scary Raquel. I can't decide if I liked it (and I did like it) or if it's going to give me nightmares.

  • This was very well done, and I love how it can apply to so many things. Did she murder someone? Was she unable to help somebody who was injured? Did she steal a jar of red paint for which she will be eternally guilty? My mind's going wild :p Also, where did you get the sound effects?

  • This was amazingg!! Very intense (like camping!). I LOVED every aspect of your editting... this video definitely blew my mind. More please? ;)

  • That was kind of scary... But that's a compliment. You really are a good actress. ^_^

  • You've really developed your own style of different. I don't know what to expect -- only that whatever you try will end up being excellently excicuted. This is amazing... It reminds me of Lady Macbeth at the end. Very intriguing. :) and I'm jeal of your editing skillz.

  • You totes did do it.

  • very intresting. me gusta

  • here's what I love about you. You're not afraid to be diverse. You're clever and funny and "cute" with a lot of your videos, but then you come up with stuff like this and the halloween video and I just love you even more than I ever have before. Well done, Raquel.

  • ... ... ... wow ... *speechless* . Now this you did really really well, can we see more? This was very intense.

  • shhhhiiiit. *in awe*

  • very good video raquel. very visual :D

  • pink-handed! lol great video!

  • I like was just shifting around because this video gave me so much anxiety, and yet, I was loving it entirely at the same time. I don't know if I'm scared or if your editing skills just SUPERLY IMPRESSED ME. Which they did. Also, I'm so glad and lucky I got to see a screencap of this before it made it into the YouTubez. I had no idea what to expect. amazingamazingamazing.

  • If this was NCIS, Gibbs would have a field day w/ you're character in interrogation. If this was Fringe, you might be hearing voices from the other side where the alternate you did something. If this was MacBeth... well it is, isn't it. (j/k) Nice work Rachel. Liked, Favorited, commented, Tumblr'ed, smothered, capped, and coverered (sorry about the last part, I'm hungry for Waffle House).

  • @ArtemusRex sorry, I thought I actually typed Raquel. Maybe this was a glimpse into the future and that's my blood on your hands for mistakingly typing Rachel. NoooOOOoooOOOoooOOOoooOOOooo.....

  • Very nice job editing this, Raquel!

    - Jason

  • This was pretty awesome : )

Very creative and well done, I love it!

  • Wow, the sound in this was gorgeous. I love your editing!

  • Wow! You could get a professional career in acting or editing. That was an Oscar winning performance ;D

  • I LOVE videos where we get to see your acting chops in a more serious context. And the editing on this was great. :)

  • @julialovesupreme Aww tanks! You are so sweet. <3

  • Ooooooooooooo.... Nice

  • @rudeandnotginger81 Right back at ya. ;D

  • very creepy cool...I just love the editing and the sound effects. something unique to watch and try to analyze...

  • @nerdgirlsforthewin Thank you! I tried something different.

  • WTF!?!

  • @KhushalB Exactly.

  • This is wonderful. I really like the style. I love seeing how your style has grown and gotten better.

  • @crazzyladies08 Thank you! That really means a lot. <3
