@KTLoulou: It's a real shame you were poorly served by your audiologist, by you not being provided with a bone conductor hearing aid. These go back to the 1950's; and in fact work well for conductive hearing losses. When you had your hearing tested, the audie used headphones for air conduction testing, and a bone conductor (vibrator) to measure your hearing loss (if any) in your inner ear (cochlea).
yeah, thats what im going to get my hearing aid as soon i see the DR and get mold and get hearing aid, when i was young i hear everything, i explain i missed Bird and crickets chirping even frog nights, i missed that sounds, so she will fix me powerful sounds, im excite!!!!
Somebody I know who is studying to be an audiologist and who also wears hearing aids said to me that it is better than people can see your hearing aid then (hopefully) they will know to talk clearly and distinctly to you (and other hearing aid wearers). Any thoughts? Will you do this at some stage?
My hearing aid is made by Oticon Vigo Pro. When I was three years old I had to have a tumor removed from my ear. They had to remove all the bones from my ear so the tumor wouldn't grow back. I never had hearing aid as a child because there was no reason since all the bones were gone. A few years ago they rebuilt my ear with plastic parts and donor bones. It worked for a little while but then quite working as well due to scar tissue. The hearing aid is supposed to help...so far so good!
@KTLoulou: (2/2) I'm sorry my profession let you down, needlessly leaving you in silence all these years.

That looks really neat. Does the 'open ear'
fitting give you enough amplification? I'd have thought you'd need a full mould to avoid feedback.

What make is your hearing aid and do you know what caused your hearing loss? Do you know why you did not get one when you were younger?
