THE PIGS ARE FINE WITH THIS! Pigs have very weak hearts and are prone to cardiac arrests! if you do as much as yell to loud to a pig, it will start panicking and die from a heart attack. So if they could actually feel the pain, or were in any way frightened they would have died with the first ink stroke.
Also, pigs have a skin surface similar to ours, but is way thicker and less sensitive.

Because of their thick skin they do not react and some fall asleep during the process. These are the only pigs that get to die old in the whole world as far as i know.. I am going to the farms where this takes place outside of beijing during the summer if i can get the money for the trip that is =)
The pigs don't feel a thing. Their skin is much thicker than human skin and pretty robust. I've seen this live before and the pigs there fell asleep while getting inked. They didn't even sedate them. In my opinion this is a contribution to making the world a bit more colorful and therefor art.

@Azraele100877 ...ehm... no, è che io i maiali li allevo da diversi anni. Ti faccio notare alcune cose:
1) Il maiale sul tavolo non è sedato (ed è un'operazione che viene sempre praticata quando si devono fare degli interventi MINIMAMENTE DOLOROSI (taglio delle unghie, ecc...)
2) Se fai male ad un maiale, non basta mettergli la mano sul muso per farlo stare tranquillo: la reazione più frequente è che scappa a gambe levate, o peggio diventa aggressivo,..

@paradisetan1 They feel it, but it doesn't hurt them as much as it would hurt a human, because their skin is thicker. It's just a prickling, uncomfortableness. Slight pain (hence the shudders and mild struggle, but not desperate fight).
Unless the animals are sedated, by which case, the pain would be lessened, anyhow.

Because of their thick skin they do not react and some fall asleep during the process. These are the only pigs that get to die old in the whole world as far as i know.. I am going to the farms where this takes place outside of beijing during the summer if i can get the money for the trip that is =)

The pigs don't feel a thing. Their skin is much thicker than human skin and pretty robust. I've seen this live before and the pigs there fell asleep while getting inked. They didn't even sedate them. In my opinion this is a contribution to making the world a bit more colorful and therefor art.
