@aimsren Part of the charm imho is that it's a game suitable for little kids, but it's not a "kids game" due to the difficulty. And unlike most "hard" games it's not bullshit pixel-perfect hard. It's in fact very lenient with when you get "hit". It's hard, but not bullshit hard.

The answer for those two question is one: This is the PC version... That version was less (technically) complicated in many parts than the PS version. The tune is indeed the same as the first encounter, while in the PS version that tune is the third of the PC constant sequence of tunes for the Picture City worlds, as you can hear here: watch?v=x-Au4QJRcA8 at 3:14.

This is one of the strangest bosses ever, she Has a rolling pin that fires lasers, a pirate ship, flys around using a washing machine and attacks rayman with some sort of frying pan bombs... Were the creators stoned when they created her or something lol

The thing with Space Mama is, she is so random in attack pattern that you never really know what she's going to do next, one minute she's firing lasers at you, then pressure cookers, then when you think your safe, she hides behind her "ship" and starts zapping you, and how the heck are you meant to figure out what to do? even if you do hit that switch enough, the washing machine randomly bounces towards you... and that's why she's the hardest boss.
Quite so... the first time, I took me a while to figure that part out. Luckily, I tend to save up several extra lives in the game, so I have plenty of chance to retry these bosses... o_~
Yeah usually Rayman is addictive and challenging, but this level was just straight up cheap, it took me like a week to work out what to do on the washing machine part, and they make it hit you, come on, thats uncalled for
Rayman is an infuriatingly difficult game, but it's fun. I hated it though, but I still beat it. I guess I don't like games that are 'unfair'. I just wish that you could get extra continues because when you lose them all, you have to restart the entire game, and seeing how easy it is to die...

I remember being 9 Years old, Fighting that Space Mama Boss. Took me a long Time to beat her, Great Times. I think that 1st Original Rayman Game for PS1 was the Best out of all of 'em.
i first played this when i was 9, and its replayability is frankly astounding, i replayed it about 8 months ago and enjoyed it as much as the first time.
Wow, started with 5 hitpoints and an S-gold punch ... must've been a pain getting past the previous levels without dying, and beating space mama without dying once.
I prefer the music in the PSX version. The PSX version had a different tune for this boss. I find it more relaxing (especially against such a frustrating boss).
Not only tunes. Some backgrounds were changed completely (like the first level in Band Land, the background and the level (or stage) is completely different.
I think that they changed other tunes as well. That was probably because of the space on the CD (they had to put an installation program). I find it too bad because some of the best tunes are left out.

I heard and saw of the graphic differences, also the sound. But I have not heard nor expected soudtrack major differences.

i have realised sumthing...
on this PC version the gravity is much stronger making the jump descent faster.
on the SATURN version the gravity is poor so its harder to dodge the lasers and hit the washing machine at the same time

on the game over screen there is a cheat you can do ( up down left right I think ) to get 10 more continues so you will never fail =P

ppl say the bosses are easy now but when i was 4 or 5 i played this game and it took me 4ever to complete it. when ur young though games were so hard

i first played this when i was 9, and its replayability is frankly astounding, i replayed it about 8 months ago and enjoyed it as much as the first time.

howde u get so many lives? ime struggerling to keep up with rayman I keep getting 0 lives and aving to reload my save all the time

Probably since I die rarely and know most if not all the secrets (such as extra lives, bonus levels, etc.).

You can also try to finish easy levels repeatedly, accumulating Tings for lifes.

Oh thanks, i have no alarm clocks left so ill have to rely on the lifes instead, is there anyway of getting any alarm clock chances back?

I remember this when I was a kid. I think I beat Space Mama but that claw-crab guy was still pretty hard.

Wow, started with 5 hitpoints and an S-gold punch ... must've been a pain getting past the previous levels without dying, and beating space mama without dying once.

I prefer the music in the PSX version. The PSX version had a different tune for this boss. I find it more relaxing (especially against such a frustrating boss).

Not only tunes. Some backgrounds were changed completely (like the first level in Band Land, the background and the level (or stage) is completely different.
I think that they changed other tunes as well. That was probably because of the space on the CD (they had to put an installation program). I find it too bad because some of the best tunes are left out.

I heard and saw of the graphic differences, also the sound. But I have not heard nor expected soudtrack major differences.
What version used the tunes left out of the other one?
Yes, I'd really want to hear the PSX music. Thank you very much. Videos I saw here on YouTube of the PSX are missing the music. (probably due to emulation for PC usage.)
