Have been a big fan ever since I heard of them in the early seventies. They were way ahead of the time, I don't think people really understood them. A unique talent!
this was the first Sparks record I ever bought in 1977. Second was "Sparks." I ended up buying the lot. This one has got some of Ron's best lyrics....ones that keep you scratching your head the whole day. Funny that the music is so intentionally "dumb.." especially after the critical slaying they got in England circa "Indiscreet," which had them packing their bags for the US for re-evaluation..a smart move really. Cathartic, indeed.
Sparks was (still is?) a great band that was just a tad too weird for mass consumption. Ron Mael wrote consistently great, funny songs. I"d highly recommend the albums "Kimono My House" and "Propaganda."
I only know Sparks from late night TV in the 70s. Ain't Ray and Dave, but the Mael Bros. are very cool and this is a song almost worthy of the Kinks.

@dariowestern The 1st person to dislike this will be no doubt asking some harsh home truths of themselves.

Yep. Like I put in another post. Somewhere between the Rock Horror and They Might Be Giants this band fit.
He sang like Freddie Mercury too.
Just ahead of there time.
Why this song didn't get some airplay then????
But today maybe?

If Sparks ever gets played on the radio, it would re-establish my faith in humanity.
But, uhhh............never would happen.
