@TheMikester307 He reads this story well, I have the full version on audio, but I also have a very early cassette version of the gunslinger, which he doesnt do justice to at all.
Dark tower series is his masterpeice. And the many mistakes that are made throughout the series, that contradict eariler stories and characters and places, only add to the mystique and deranged quality of the tower universe.
I've always been confused by alot of King's work. For some reason, the first 75%-80% of his books are very good, then they fall off severely at the end, like he isn't sure when or how to end his story (IT, anyone?). Is that just me?
When I'm reading a Stephen King book, no matter how long, I never want it to end, I want to live in that world and read more about it. So the ending isn't as important and really any ending will be a disappointment since I don't want the book to end at all.
And if you think about it, there are no "endings" in real life, are there? Except death, that is... There are no firm, solid "good" endings like in some books... It's the journey that's important.
We'll see how good Rowling is now that she's done with the Harry Potter series. I doubt she'll have the longevity of King. Her storytelling is wonderful, but the quality of her writing compared to King is terrible (anyone who uses so many adverbs should be shot). It says something about your intelligence that you prefer a children's writer to an adult writer.

I may be thumbed down for this
Stephen King = fucking king of literature of our time
J K Rowling = an okay writer
Smeyer = just utterly horrible at writing and shouldn't even be considered one of the best at all

Not every writer is a good public reader, but King is! He conveys the ordinary-guy creepiness and the fun that goes along with it of his stories.

I think maybe he does better with an audience.

Some of the characters never end either. Have you ever noticed some of the same characters show up in other books?

I really like Stephen King. Tried to read some J.K. Rowling, but her writing is too boring for me.

He doesn't like endings. Says so in his final dark tower series. He has the thought that the story is about the journey not the end.

I thought so. I can understand that.

I normally like the begginings and the end but there tends to be a bit in the middle where it gets boring.
