You can't really call it a lesson when you only tell us the first note.. even in the slowed down version it's still *almost* impossible to see clearly how to play it..nevermind though, just gonna have fun for a few hours learning it by ear :) still a great upload, must be great being able to play it along with the record :P
It's Mick. There's 2 guitarists in this records. Mark Knofpler and Mick Taylor. Both are very easy to recognise. They play in there style and sound. The only doubt I have is in your perception. Regarding who plays what in this record, I have no doubt.
I played with the original track by Bod Dylan behind. My guitar is louder and MT solo is then covered. But it is the original track ("Sweetheart like you" in Bod Dylan's LP "Infidel"). For your information, MT plays in various titles in this record.
Thanks mate! This is a help, don't know if I can make it but it definitely will help my guitar playing anyway.... And Yes, possibly the greatest solo ever, always gives me goose bumps whenever I listen to "Infidels"
That is Mick Taylor's best solo ever....at least in any released recordings. Some of his live stuff with the Stones was at this level or perhaps even better, but nothing you can buy on a CD or itunes. Thanks

She was the lead in a band called the Textones in the 80's, and played with many different artists. We both learned something.

This has always been one of my favorite guitar solos of all time.
I got this solo down except for the very end when Taylor plays the two octaves. I will check out your tutorial. Thank you for putting up this video.
