  • Great video! The soundtrack is very touching when combined with this intimate footage. Can I get a copy for my iPad?

  • AWW come on the tbirds deserve better music than that

  • EXCELLENT

  • EXELLENT

  • ive been to mercury nevada its hot.

  • they used to practice at a place called Indiantown, I believe, west of Nellis.....years ago, all 3 followed the leader into a mountain near there..... an old Hun jock

  • @MarinerCayPilot The practice range is called Indian Springs, located by Creech AFB in Nevada, north of Nellis AFB. And it wasn't a mountain, it was the floor of the range. They were going up practicing a line-abreast loop and the leader had insufficient backpressure on the stick to finish the loop. Following their leader to the end, all four planes plowed in the ground.

  • Thanks for posting! I love footage of old jets!

  • beautifull flying of the silverado's, very nice at 5:25 only the 3rd T-Bird with a shadow.

i don't mind if there's no jetnoize the music sets the footage in the right place of history, thanks for sharing this footage

  • Just made my night...thanks for posting.

2:30....even that far back that cannot be Nellis AFB, the mountains don't look right in the background.

It looks a hell of a lot like Groom Lake during the early years.

    Again a WONDERFUL HISTORICAL VIDEO....5 *****

  • @rampking1 Van Nuys airport, I think maybe???

  • @mcdonnell220 I cannot believe that.

It's showing a flat nearly barren plain with stark mountains in the background.

"Mercury" looks like a town on an old map but it is actually was a military installation at the Nuclear testing range in Nevada north of Las Vegas and south of Tonopah.

The second video really looks like Groom lake AFB.

There wasn't much there in the early years.

Thanks one more time for this video.

  • @rampking1 It's the Indian Springs range located by Creech AFB just north of Nellis AFB in Nevada. The Thunderbirds to this day practice there during winter training.

  • @PatriotsJetTeam Okay, but I was in the "neighborhood"!

I know Indian Springs...it's just east of the Highway.

    Thanks!

  • @PatriotsJetTeam Cool, thanks a bunch for the info, I'll add to the stats. Chris

  • @mcdonnell220 Cool! maybe we really have Area 51 circa 1959 to view!!
