  • One can learn so much by watching such great playing!

  • Great Playing!

  • What a beautiful piece! I've been trying to learn this for the last 5 months and finally got it down! I'm no Romane but I like to think i'm on my way:)

  • im trying to improvise in that way for years, but i think i quit

  • Grande bigote! que linda musica, pero django la tocaba con 2 dedos menos jeje

  • who's credited for Django's Waltz?

  • It's not just the speed. Such dynamics! marvelous!

  • the base player loooooks kind a like Joscho Stephan ... kind of... little bit ... i guess

  • GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I would brake my fingers trying play that

  • the B part of this tune totally blows my mind : )

  • Extra.

  • what is wrong with dose who dislike this???

  • @DEKELTERI if some one dislikes this they have no sense of passion or love of music with original flair. this is some of the most complicated guitar music in the world, and there be few that master it.

  • Lovely playing. I learned a lot from this.

  • because of these few Romane and Rosenberg Trio performances, Romane is my favorite performer I've ever seen anywhere

  • C'est d'une beauté, des frissons a chaque fois !! Merci Romane

  • is this based off the G7 chord?

  • @astralfarts almost , is in E minor, but relative 6degrees is G maj....

  • @astralfarts is in Eminor

  • The two on the left are definitely in disguse... Wow... These guys have just totally rocked my Thursday morning!

  • @QuantumPlenum same for my Friday today!

  • This is Music to my ears..

  • i Roma sam mes nai bare

  • Beautiful, i like that.

  • para vos hopo

  • Ha ha ha, you also have to wear a nice pimp blazer!

Hey guys, i just ordered his book "L' Esprit Manouche" and i was wondering if anyone could tell me what you thought of this book (if you purchased it) and if it helped, and maybe recommend me other Gypsy Jazz books.

    Thanks

  • @GassyCoke I just purchased Michael Horowitz Gypsy Rhythm. I've always loved Gypsy comping behind and soloist, and so I do like this book. It's just really expesive it was $65. One thing that I loved L' Espirit Manouche is the diagram on playing one kind of arpeggio from the first fret up to the 12. If you can do that alone you will be well off. If you have a good grasp on music theory you can fill in the holes.

  • @sinisterdanny Yeah i've been learning in a very enjoyable way with Romane's book, M.H Gypsy Picking and transcribing Django & other great manouche players.

So far i think thats the best way to learn: transcribing.

One thing i didn't really like about L'Esprit Manouche is that it has only Romane's songs, and he is one of my favorites but i'd like it more if it had some of Djangos tunes too, but hey, thats what transcribing is for.

  • @GassyCoke

Hi. Where can I order the book from? thanks.

  • @CJbouzouki

Just go to ebay.com and search "Romane L'esprit manouche" and there you go, lots of sellers and different prices the cheaper are like $17 the most expensive ones are like $35, they are the same book, just different sellers.

    Hope that helps ; )

  • @GassyCoke

    Thanks for your help :)

  • Thanks my brothers!!! Excellent video and very good performance! It very beautiful music!

  • Romane is SUCH A BAD MOFO! I wish my fingers could move that fast on the fretboard!

  • @narsisco2010 Practice makes perfect.

  • Beautiful sound!

  • :X:X: ollalla

  • I love this song so much! It is truly magnificent.

  • Bravo! :)

  • Ralala... C'est un réel plaisir de t'écouter... Merci !!! ♫

  • Anyone know if theres a tab for this?

    I havn't found one so far :(

  • @78389

There's a good Guitar Pro tab running around the internet for this version. Check for Romane on 911tabs com and look for Montagne St Genevieve, the one on tabsheaven is ok, no intro unfortunately. Good luck

  • Oh if you don't have Guitar pro run a Google search on: 128 gypsy power tabs there's a Power tab file for this piece in there. Other version though.

  • thx for this tip! this tabs are avesome!

  • Found it, thank you sir!

This should keep me occupied for the next few years haha

  • i had the pleasure of performing in nashville with ramone and jim nichols and his brother ! chet atkins was in the audience ! it was for the c. a. a. s. convention at the music city sheraton ! both ramone and jim are phenomonal musicians ! ramone plays like the devil himself on this most excellent django rein hardt composition ! romane is a master guitarist ! hello romane ! thank you for this excellent video ! january 3 2010 les copeland

  • Very enjoyable!

The accompanist on the left appears to be the famous Mario who himself is an amazing one-man-band who plays and sings with remarkable talent. He's also funny as hell. Mario, the Catskills miss you. Peace.

  • I've heard he comes from the same village, and Manouche Clan as Django. Anybody know if that is true? He sure plays like a "real" Roma/Gypsy. His guitar appears to bear a close resemblance to Django's axe...

  • Romane is seriously great. A really classy player.d

  • true musicianship.

  • Great job, this is not easy, great tempo and dynamics.

  • beautiful!10 out 10!

  • Awesome. :)

  • Does anyone know of any good books on this style?

  • illnastic: There are several books out there. I recommend videos first as there are some picking techniques that are really hard to describe in words. Denis Chang has good videos on this, and I believe that this video also came from Romane's instructional video. There are several youtube videos that could help you as well, but you really have to stick to the "authentic" ones and not imitators in order to learn the proper techniques.

  • Really Great that sound, really great musicians!

  • Beautiful.

  • Very nice!!

  • excellent video! I love this song :D :D :D

  • does anyone know the chords for this one?

    Tx

  • aves bachtalooo ..... shukares basaves superrrrrrrrr

  • Have you noticed how little Romane's hand moves

  • Thank you it' s great !Latscho Diwes Manusno Rromane lautara ! me palikeraw latsches lautar Devleha !

  • @vindicari evidently you dont understand the melodic illusions of guitar

  • It's a sad state of affairs when musicians like this, who actually work extremely hard and truly know their instrument, are marginalised whilst Coldplay or The Kooks are showered in money and fame. The Kooks are just lazy art school kids who learnt major and minor chords. It's ridiculous, and it rips the profundity from music. Since punk, musicians haven't had to work at all its crazy. xXx

  • So true, this is terrific music that challenges and engages the listener. As for punk Joan Rivers said, the good thing about punk is that it gives the ugly kids a chance!

  • the lowest common denominators seek out and worship the lowest common denominators...that is what we have with music now, dumbing down and marketing, its all all about style without substance..but don't groan just know that eagles can fly as low as vultures but vultures will never fly as high as eagles...all these mass produced pop/rock groups will be forgootten in 20 yrs whilst genius like Djangos still lives on and on and on...

  • I never voice my opinion to people because I might come out as pompous ass, but bravo brother! My thoughts exactly.

  • Glad i'm not the only one..as they say 'fashions come and go but 'style' lives forever' and geniuses like Django aren't just flowing with 'style'..but in fact they invent new styles..genuises break new ground, take the music into a different and more enriched avenue..what creativity is there in mass-produced commericial music these days?..95% of it is just re-hashing 'classic' melodies/pop hits anyway in some form..

  • loved it, nice jacket romane!

  • I enjoyed it a lot - great work :)

    Cheers

  • I heard this one many times, this one is the best. I would give as much stars as wanted because it can't get any better. so hat off and 5 stars

  • This Cat Is.... Straight Up... Fantastic!

  • Very nice! but you have to smoke a cigarette while doing it :)

  • un gran tema un gran músico, gracias

  • Fucking incredible! Loved that "manual" delay!

  • what kind of pick-up is that?

  • i 've been playing guitar for over forty years & I am hooked

enough with the electrics and the amplifiers

    Acoustic Jazz all the way!!!!!!

  • i have a mustache

  • I think you have to have a cool mustache to play in this band

  • @ByGoneBlues Mine isn't cool thats why I suck. If you don't have adequate facial hair you will never be a musical success. I'm 35 and my moustache still looks like something my cat scratched off.

  • @ByGoneBlues haha, well in their culture that type of mustache is seen as a sign of manlyhood in the camps

  • @ByGoneBlues

I grew the mustache but still can'y play like this... There must be another secret... LOL

  • @thekizle

that's strange... with me it actually worked! but you could still try the pink-suit-and-pois-tie-trick!

  • @thekizle :))) funny

  • @ByGoneBlues LOL

  • I just peed a little.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the laugh. Probably a common reaction to such effortless virtuosity.

  • oh yeah, that guy is so good

  • Incredible...what is that guitar ?

  • That guitar is a Maurice Dupont from France.

  • Check out Etienne "Patotte" Bousquet's version on youtube; he plays it on electric guitar.

  • sukar aves bachtalo roma

  • Nice .. very nice - there is only ONE reincarnation of Django, and Romane is it!

I've been a huge fan for years - cannot understand why you don't see more of him in the states.

    Thanks for posting!

  • Cada vez que escucho la música de Django me siento alguien insignificante en la guitarra.

    Excelente canción.

  • i love this stuff . . thanks adrian . . .amazing skills . . .took years and thousand of hours to play this well . . .not everybody has this much time anymore . . . they started this age age 5-6-7-8 . . . .j-ok

  • superb ! :-)

  • excellent

  • yeah ! :-) greetings to you and Bert, Vidimah !

  • Wow - that was just great from Romane, this is not an easy piece to play!! I love Musette.

Thank you Adrian for the clip.

  • Wonderful.

It really makes you forget the rhythm guitarist's socks

  • what?

  • How droll......per chance, did you attend Harvard Professional School?....or is that a stretch of the imagination?

  • Come on, you MUST mock people when they're that good.

And I'm not that good. So let's get back to that debatable socks and jackets.

  • Romane. such an awesome sports coat.

  • my hero

  • Bella musica.Bravo.
