Oh my god... Be a bit more open-minded, I understand that you can not like the movie, but you cannot say that it's bad. Rubber is so mind-fucking it's awesome, one of my favorite movies. Period.

And just sayin', you can check out Quentin Dupieux's music too (he's name is "Mr. Oizo"). He makes weird stuff, but a lot of people like it.

And also, if anybody reads French litterature, his movie is kinda in the same genre than Raymond Queneau's novels I think.

Hmm... Upon watching it, I think maybe many people went into it without knowing what it was. I, for one, was thinking it was going to be a very silly movie that knows just how stupid its plot is, and never hesitates to point that out and make fun of it. However, it seems like it was a more artistic, subtle, mind-bending type of movie, that flies straight over the head of anyone who doesn't enjoy and understand that sort of thing.

Try 'House of Fools.' I had to watch it for a film class, and to be honest I wasn't expecting much from it. Its a foreign film (Russian) and generally speaking, they just can't compete with American movies

To my pleasant surprise, House of Fools turned out to be excellent, definitely earning a place in my top 10.

The film itself deals with a mental institution that was abandoned during the Chechen war, and is (very) loosely based on actual events.

make sure you get subtitles.

I completely disagree with the monologue in the beginning. Whether you do not like the reason or are just unaware of what that reason is, everything is done for a particular reason. This movie was made not based on the concept of "No Reason", but rather the reason for making the movie the way it is was to highlight the extraordinary and unexpected aspect of film making.
