EL MEJOR INSTRUMENTISTA DE LA HISTORIA DE LA RAZA HUMANA HASTA HOY ... EL QUE SEPA DE ALGUIEN MEJOR QUE INDIQUE SU OBRA ..... SPERAMOS AQUI .. GRACIAS ... IMPACIENTES
Has Steve ever mentioned if For the Love of God was inspired by the 1970's Tv show called Kung Fu with David Caradine...? That opening melody of the Tv show where Caradine is walking in the desert. FTLoG reminds me a lot of that great show. Thanks.
Vai has to be one of the most technically gifted, but sadly tasteless and unrestrained musicians out there. He plays the same rigid and dead, scale driven BS to cheesy and lifeless backing tracks 100% of the time. He can start a song pretty well, and get a nice groove going, but then he just turns it into another over-driven display of fret board wankery and acrobatics.
@morphicwraith Whoops, thanks for correcting me - wasn't quite sure about the model. What's the difference between Jem-555 and Jem7v? Only the pickups and the bridge?
@DutchNewbJr Legato. Only pick the first note in the string and then use a combination of hammer ons (or pull offs, OR sometimes both) for only that string; and use the pick everytime just when going onto a new string.
I really don't care too much for Steve's style but his technicality is amazing... It seems Tender Surrender and For the Love of God are the only songs of his that are musically appealing to my ear.. his other stuff is just ..well..weird and not really soothing to listen to.. but what I'd do to have skills like this !!!!
Steve i've used about 3 notes in my 170 or so songs...you can have the remaining notes...i don't know what to do with them,,,you rock dude.... God bless

I'd really appreciate it if you checked on my channel if you have the time, and maybe give me some feedback and let me know what you think. You rock!
You play so melodically, not just a bunch of shred. Sometimes when I hear your guitar, it almost makes me want to cry. I hate to admit it, but I recently started listening to your music. The company I was working for closed down, so I had a lot of time on my hands. I started playing again, writing and recording. Now that I am working again, I am not going to give up guitar like I did when I went off to college. Thank you for your beautiful music! Gotta say, you have a lot of class too!

God takes guitar lessons from Steve Vai. Jesus has everything that Steve Vai's ever released. Buddha has a Steve Vai signed Ibanez Gem. Shiva once had a beer with Steve Vai. The Devil and Steve Vai once split a plate of nachos at the bowling alley. And Xerxes bows down to Steve Vai.
Last night, I thought after finishing my to do list, there's got to be a good reason to continue being a strugling artist. When I see Steve play it not only makes sense to continue, but it helps me keep my vision of creating my own version of Prog. I use Art rock, so Art, or Prog. (progresive) of course because we all know what direction we'd like the music to go. It's more than just music, it's an Adventure waiting to lived in the chemistry of our minds, hearts and souls.
Steve Vai is a guitar setting horizon. No matter how much I practice and how close I think I am, I realize I can never get there. But, I'll keep following that sunset if only for the inspiration.

@ins0mniakds Correct me if I am wrong but Joe taught Steve. I believe Steve knocked on Joe's door one day and it was a sight to be seen. He may of been Joe's first student, I'm not sure. Steve then went to Berkeley and then auditioned for Frank Zappa..the rest is history...the story would make a great movie

Hi!
Anyone, please!
I reckon Steve Vai must be using a great deal of distortion in his playing, but you never hear any unwanted noises out of the amp.
When I try tapping, the strings that are not involved always tend to generate unwanted noise that reverberates in the amp, and it's so...irritating!
How does one avoid this, I mean, is it only a matter of good muting technique, or is there any devices that can help with this type of problems? Any hints please? I appreciate. Thank you.

@jeanounou sorry for my bad english, yes there are many noise supresors, but they only help with what buzz is refered to, but getting a clean playing style have so many thricks involved, the big secrets for this clean playing are, 1 ur thumb, the hand u use in the freet board have to take care of the thicker strings, and 2, the palm of ur hand u use for picking or whatever, should mute every string ur not playing, so yes, is hard, cause u might mute a string ur playing

@XxsaintsblackxX BTW maybe... well, not maybe... You're not this good, that's why you don't attend talent shows to show off.... But you know how to write, and you have a keyboard and an internet connection, so you come here and SHOW OFF! VOILÁ!.. Your dream CAME true! lmfao... Maybe next time you wanna think twice before say something silly just to SHOW OFF... Step your game up! I give you this, next time try something with the "Mixolydian" or "Aeolian" word on it... hahaha... dude you're funny!

Not enough oomph in that sound. Needs more punch like the other video. Still awesome though.

Is it me or does Steve Vai kinda look like Steve Nye (the science guy)... lol maybe they were separated at birth! they're both smart fellers.

I've been to a few of the G-3 tours.
Vai's performance is relentless power and elegance.

Didn't Steve Vai teach Joe Satriani?
ins0mniakds 1 year ago
@ins0mniakds Correct me if I am wrong but Joe taught Steve. I believe Steve knocked on Joe's door one day and it was a sight to be seen. He may of been Joe's first student, I'm not sure. Steve then went to Berkeley and then auditioned for Frank Zappa..the rest is history...the story would make a great movie
