  • This is one AWESOME model. I just discovered your channel yesterday and I would like to thank you for your uploads. :)

  • -gasp--gasp--gasp-(Taking a few gasps more...)

    Shocking..... detail on that caddy.

Do you have any ideas about where can I get this model on Hungary?

I would love to keep one in my hands :)

  • @MegaZsolti Hello! The best bet would be to contact The Danbury Mint directly. They might know of a way to get one, but as far as we know, the models are sold out. You could try searching auction sites like eBay or GoMotorBids, to see if a seller has one.

    Good Luck! Thanks for watching!

  • @Thecarroom Okay might try it lol

  • @MegaZsolti Good Luck!

  • @Thecarroom i thought about it once again, and well, I don't think theyll say yes...

    (Well, not sure in it)

  • At $500 (when it came out), this seems like a bargain compared to CMC's 1/12 models, which command over $2000. This seems to be at least as detailed and well-built as any CMC or Exoto.

I would guess a collector wanting to get his hands on one of these today would pay a lot more than the original price, but it's still amazing that Danbury Mint would sell such an incredible piece of work for so little. There are lower-quality 1/18 models that cost more than this.

  • @legr8est1234 We hear that a lot. These truly are amazing models, especially for the money. The principal difference between, say, the CMC 1:12 Horch and these DM Caddys is the techniques used to build the bodies: The Horch is made entirely from sheets of hand-formed, soldered-together copper, and it's comprised of literally thousands of parts, whereas the DM car is mostly diecast. Not that one's better than the other, just different. We wish either company would do a Duesy or Packard...

  • @Thecarroom I hear that. I'm not much of a classic car collector, but these models do offer the opportunity for much more intricate detail than a traditional modern "shell."

I wasn't sure of the difference in the manufacturing process between DM and CMC, but I can understand why CMCs would cost more to make. Still, both companies churn out incredible-looking models.

  • @legr8est1234 We love the classics, too - there are so many outstanding cars yet to be done. We only hope that the ones that do get done get done as well as these!

    Thanks again for watching!

  • Thanks for posting. Enjoying them.

  • @toyrav64 Sure! It's our pleasure. We're still having fun with these, and we're planning a bunch more.

    Thanks for watching!

  • that is probably the coolest model car i have ever seen

  • @dacasman We hear you. When this thing came in for review we were standing around like a bunch of ten year old kids. Its' very cool, and solid, too - definitely a quality piece. I thing they're getting hard to find; this release was a goner by June of '08, but the factory was supposedly doing more. I hope so. Can't wait to see what they do next in the series. Maybe a Duesenberg?
