I loved seeing him live at the Missouri State Fair with Brooks & Dunn. He was great. He is what i was brought up on an have been looking for in country again. He is a breathe of fresh air.
Too Cool....I never thought I'd ever find someone that played guitar like me...See the way he strums, with his pinkie, and ring finger hitting the pick-guard. They say that's not the proper way to do that, but it's a habbit I can't break...Nice to see someone else doing that...Awesome song, and thanks to this video, I have learned to play it, and I'm playing it tonight on Broadway in Nashville. Jamey Johnson is my new hero.
we needed someone to take the place of johnny, kris, willie, and waylon. i think we found it. this is all you can ask for to have REAL country again.............
thank christ, country is back....everyone else has forgotten where they came from. i dont see that happenin with mr. johnson. this guy is the next country legend
I wouldn't say it's quite "back", but I'll say for damn sure that its good to see artists like this guy tryin his best to get it back. We at least have a few out there now. Thanks Jamey Johnson.
Yep its life in a nutshell.. I lost it the first time I heard the song reminds me of being traded for the needle or pills or women whatever kind of fix he needed that DAY.. He knows who he loved though. ;)
recognize and LOVE this "OUTLAW" ,he the best thing since the "outlaw" movement in the 80's,spearheaded by the one and only WAYLON JENNINGS- if you are are a country fan of of waylon you got to love this guy, i do!!!!
You know he really does. My mother used to listen to Kris back in the 70' and I hated it. But as I get older...in my mid 40's I really love the music of guys like KK and Jamey Johnson
You touched me deeply with the lyrics of this song; you will never know how much. I know what you meant when you said you "couldn't even tell I was alive". I am there. This song explains all the feelings I have felt but could never express. You got a friend and a fan for life. No other song writer since WN has spoken right to my heart. God Speed. Vicki from Augusta.
I really admire Jamey's songwriting and presence in his music. Heck, even my 7 year old daughter loves his music (she is a HUGE country fan of the 'old' style). I edit some of it-she is a kid-, but this song is a cautionary tale is you listen to the words and that is a positive thing. Bought the CD over downloading due to the quality of the songs!
Well said i agree. I have been playing music a long time and no one has ever influenced me like him. He is the real deal like waylon, cash, and so many more
I would definitely say that Jamey is one of the best I've heard in a long time. It's good that he's had the success as a songwriter that it's allowed him to have the chance to do an album like this. There are so many others in Nashville that you're never going to hear because a label is never going to let them be themselves. If I know Nashville, there's a record exec somewhere trying to find himself an "outlaw" right now to compete with Jamey, but what we'll get will be manufactured.
This song is AWESOME.. My hubby and I can relate to this song in a way. I think this guy is great and the whole CD is just a must have. If you dont have it get you a copy. Jamey Johnson can sure write and sing!
This man is very talented. We listen to his music and its got a very unique sound and the lyrics are very original.

Does he remind anyone else of Kris Kristofferson? Sounds like one of his songs.
