there was this whole contingency of people there from japan, including a woman who interviewed the band for the tv show as well. some japanese guy off camera would ask the question in japanese, the band would make faces wondering what was being asked, and then she would interpret and they would answer.
i believe this day also marked the start of a weird tradition in which the japanese would present the band with a gift of huge 12" chocolate chip cookie with their logo on it!
this was made as 7800 was coming out. bon jovi were already HUGE in japan & were about to go there for a 3 week tour upon its release, so you'd think that this tv station would want a new song, but someone, either they, or the band, or the record company said no.
it was a live lipsynch filmed floating on a barge on the hudson, shot around 8Am, airing simultaneously on japanese tv at 8Pm (i might be off by an hour). arrival was 6am. the river stunk!
I absolutely love it! The Bon Jovi I fell in love with! The fashion...spandex, scarves, red slouch boots, Richie's hat...got to love it! Wow that really takes me back! Plus, the twin towers!
hahaha i cant believe this, "Menodo" is watching and enjoing it. Ricky Martin is very young. look at the kid iin green at 2:20. Thats Ricky when he is still a member of Menodo. Roby is at 2:18. great
