I think Sufism is a folkloric religion. It is a syncretism between Islam and folklore.
As such, it is a cultural phenom, not a religion in the strict sense of the word.
There are in the West movments that use dancing as a way to get to God. It is folklore, not religion.

And I read contradictions ALL the time, I hear it ALL the time. Go to three different mosques and you will hear three different interpretations. That is exactly why Allah gave us the book. So we do not depend on anybody else, not even Mohammad. Why did he send another prophet after Issa? Because people started worshiping Issa and not his teachings. I can be with God by reading the Bible, and that's what Muhammad said. That's if I can follow the Bible the way Allah intended.

Prophet Mohammad (SAW) was not a secretive mystical person. He was open like a sunny day and likewise all his teachings are open and accesible to all.
Prophet (SAW) said that I am closest to Allah during Salat, not through Sufi dance or mysticism.
Sufism never existed in Islam until the Fatimid (Shia) Khilafat in 600-700 Hijra.

You guys are like 2yr old kids that only repeat one word "Bidah". The path to Allah is as many as the number of human breaths. Why? Heaven and God was only made for u? Mother Teresa has a better chance to heaven then all you arrogant fools casting judgment on others whether it is Sufis or whoever else.
