I am working on a remake of this game for the PC. Think of it as a mod. It will be free once completed but at the moment I see it as an on going thing, getting better every year. I loved this game and will lovingly create for the PC as a hobby. I have worked out the AI and the coding. What I really need is someone who can make game models. If you have done mod work etc pls let me know. Do you have a distinctive voice...do you sound HARD AS NAILS. Let me know.
*SHIVERING* I think I had this image in my dreams when the alines swarm out of the wall… I couldn't play this game when I was younger because it was too complex for me at the time but I loved the feel of it. The graphics of the Amiga is so impressive and the music was way beyond it's time! I always forget the title I was searching for this game for a long time.
I remembered this game about the picture the aliens come out of the wall but the screen was more intense in my mind :) It's not as badass as I remember it but still cool. I loved Space Crusade, sadly the warhammer 40k games weren't intense enough for me. I like Battle Isle 4 (Incubation) witch is a bit similar in look. By the way this guys at 1:36 remind me of StarCraft. I love the amiga music style!!! This music gives me the creeps.
@TornadoRayne I originally thought this was the Cd-Rom version music, but I was surprised to found out it was amiga. Ah well, the pc DOS does have the full animations and talkie.
I've been playing this again recently on my Amiga and it's still fab! Some of the most gripping and intense gameplay ever devised and excellent sound. It still holds up well today...
so scary music, i used to hide huge speakrs in dark corners of my room when i played this game and it scared me shitless every time. Why cant EA release more classics like this today?
EA need ought to remake this in full 3D graphics, same game play, keep the same soundtrack, but rerecord it with real orchestral instruments rather than using electronic synthesisers.
Yes definitely. The into music in this game is damn scary, and I love all the pictures, they should keep that style but maybe use the engine they used in Dead Space. There is so much EA SHOULD do, but they never will, which is a shame because this game is a real gem, so is Vengenace of the Blood Angels.
The AI in this game is amongst the most cunning I have ever play against in any game I can remember. Normally people complain about games being too easy.
There is so much red tape involved in doing these things, if EA don't want to do it, some other game developer might, but one of the things they would have to do first is get permission from Warhammer 40000, that kind of shit can take for ever to negotiate.
There is a new Warhammer 40000 game due for release this year where the Tyrannids make a reappearance. It's not Space Hulk though. Don't even know if it is Genestealers. We want to see the Genestealers!
I loved the times playing Space Hulk, possibly my most favourite game of all time, I had never in my life got my ass kicked so much in a computer game, it was scary, challenging, frustrating all at the same time :D The game engine itself is very basic compared to today's full 3D combat strategy games, but there are very few that are can top Space Hulk for toughness. Genestealers are the ultimate computer game villians and not to be fucked with!
The Amiga version lacks most of the animation in the opening sequence that the PC version has, but the soundtrack the Amiga soundtrack is far scarier. The artwork of the Dark Angels banners that appear are beautiful and haunted looking, with an almost Tarot card like quality to them. The section of the soundtrack that plays along it goes very well with it.
strange that this version is lacking the animation when the amiga could've easily pulled it off.

no animation in the intro unlike the PC version but the music is amazing and extremely creepy. This game freaked me out as a kid.

Dawn Of War is good, but it would be great if there was another really moody, atmospheric Warhammer 40,000 game.

why wasnt the intro animated? seemed like the Amiga could've pulled that off.

Well, one thing's for sure. The Amiga version definitely has better music than the PC version. Sends chills down my spine every time.

Games Workshop should reprint the boardgame for starters.
Oh and please no orchestral crap. We get enough of that already :P
Seboss38 2 years ago 3
Actually, a new Space hulk (board game) is on it's way, and hopefully EA, or some other company, will create a computer game based on it.

Geeez, I remember that music - I played Amiga version of Space Hulk when I was a child.
