@TheDiddlysquat Thanks for that! and he certainly did! We had no TV in SA for a long time, so didn't see anything of him later on, and I often wondered what had happened to him. Loved him to bits, so was very pleased to see all that had happened to and with him!
No.!!!!! Thank you Tommy. It's been our pleasure to be in your world of amazing entertainment ;) you and Anne are a roll model to us all who known and lived you. Still alive and still working hard. :) always a fan..
Tommy Steele? Couldn't sing. Couldn't act. He got lucky on the coat tails of American Rock' and Roll. He made a career out of NOTHING! Lucky bastard. No Talent.
@sweeney169 Well you just look around at what we have now,few of them are nave any originality. For aman who has no talent,he has had an astonishing career. He has worked hard and given pleasure to many people.
Tommy released an autobiographical album through PYE records in 1974. He wrote all the songs, and painted all the pictures in the booklet within it's gatefold sleeve. I thought it was superb, and deserves a digital reissue !
It's nice to see someone who got what he dreamed of..
And having got it, it didn't sour him.
A gent..

Oh... and the title of the album was "MY LIFE, MY SONG", and of course is quite difficult to find these days.
