  • My wife wants one, too bad the oil companies dictate to a great degree what happens here. It used to be that a full size diesel truck got 20 + mpg until they decided to green them, now it barely gets 12mpg. I think that if people make a big enough noise about having these types of vehicles here, we will probably get them, but we have to be willing to buy one.

  • why don't we (America) have more diesel car/wagon's? and every one else does? It's almost like they don't want us to get better and cleaner vehicles . wonder that

  • @poonpiratex420 Things are definitely looking up. We should have the Chevy Cruze diesel and Mazda Skyactiv diesel soon.

  • where is this car now? back in europe? I want it so bad!!!!!

  • I want this Honda!!, too bad we're stuck in Canada with the same rubbish they sell for the american market, bring this vehicles here!!!!.

Just fit them with block heaters for our -40C winters!.

  • Only a fool wouldn't approve production of these. Only a genius could get it to pass emissions regulations...

  • how did you get this car into the USA ? Was it imported simply for testing purposes within a limited time frame before exporting out ..?

  • @twigsbiz It was in the Bosch corporate test fleet.

  • I want one. Where can I get it?

  • i prefer the 25mpg gas cr-v over the 40+mpg diesel...

  • Does it still have the almighty power of the V-TEC?

  • I'm glad there are so few manual and diesel cars in america, that makes them rarer for the minority of people who own one or a combo of both

  • Why don't they just pair the engine with an auto gearbox???

    In the UK it's either a 2.0 Auto/Manual

    or 2.2Turbo Diesel manual only....

I purchased the 2.2 because it's so much quicker and much more economical.

  • congratulations honda on your very first diesel

  • honda and toyota recently introduced automatic transmissions for their crv and rav4 respectively.

  • Women love stick shift's, they love to grab a long hard shaft and manipulate it while moving...now if they would only learn how to drive...LOL

  • leave my mom's thighs out of this.

  • bring this to the USA and i have 20K cash for you

  • @Jthumper dont think they wil accept monopoly cash .

  • @Jthumper They probably want $30,000 for this

  • quisiera saber si en mexico ya salio esa version diseel

  • bem que podia vir para o Brasil essa versao.

  • WHY do the auto manufactures hide there engines I personally like to see what the engine so if i have to change the water-pump or alternator i don't need a degree to figure it out!

  • Um belíssimo carro, que reúne força, utilidade, classe e conforto, além de pertençer a uma das grandes marcas mundiais. Lindo e bom. Gostaria de ganhar um!!!

  • Will the mom's put up with manually shifting? You'll never know until they have the option of choosing. Most brands in America sell automatics for SUV. This is a mistake. There are a lot of people who want a manual. Let the special order it if they want, but at least give them the option.

  • @raymondt1 That's right I want CHOICE!!!

  • When are these coming to the U.S.? What about the diesel Pilot and Odyssey?

  • Most mom's are pretty god damn lazy and I'm sure they won't drive with a manual gear box... But there are some out there that would, my mother has been driving manual trans cars since the 80's... I hope they bring this thing over here to the USA.

  • Manual is soo much better if you learn how to drive it. Much more control, better mileage, lasts longer, cheaper, etc. I have a 2002 vw tdi jetta with 106,000 running the same brakes clutch and tranny.

  • I completely agree with you! All my cars / trucks are manual (except for my Wifes Element). People over in the UK have a totally different view on driving (that and their emission are lax) so that is why they get all these awesome diesel engines... I'm a believer that the USA needs clean diesel... I'm sure your Jetta is nice, the new Jetta Diesel is really nice... I'd almost think about buying that if my wife would be okay with the manual trans... :)

  • I'm reviewing a 2009 Jetta TDI Sportwagen with the sport shift six-speed automatic this week. It's a joy to drive ... it's not quite as snicksnick fun as a six-speed manual, but it's getting close ... more like taptap ... :)

  • should be cool, looking forward to seeing the video!

  • yes definately. can you imagine how reliable a honda diesel would be too??

  • manual wears down the clutch faster =\

most automatics are pretty good at gas mileage... won't make much difference... but i agree that manual is better overall though

  • Stupid question, but do automatics even have a clutch? I thought they had torque converters or something (my knowledge of automatics is not very good, ) I would think a CVT would be the best, but would still pick a manual just for the fun factor. I love having control of my car and feeling like I am driving not being driven. Obviously opinions differ or they wouldn't give us a choice in anything, but I would definitely love a six speed on a this with a double overdrive. This rocks

  • thats like puting a f250 engine in a smart car lol

  • Looks nice. Wish they would put it in production in Canada and US
