Mmm... yes and no it is the 2zz but has a higher rev range and is supercharged kind of like the 1zz in the corolla compaired to the 1zz in the mr2

my bro has an exige with a stage 2 and an induction kit. sounds sweet, needs a straight pipe tho.. also the reason they rev them up is, when the engine is cold, the cars rev limiter kicks in and stops it revving over 6,200 rpm, so you 'can' revv it to warm it up quicker. otherwise they are just showin off. did i answer your question?

Yeah, dude, they don't rev high when cold because the oil isn't flowing around the engine as well as it should to protect the internals.

So if he's revving it higher at start up, he's a idiot to be quite honest.
