I know at least 3 people that own cats and are allergic. 1 got shots from his doctor to desensitize himself. One girl could pet her 2 cats but if she touched her face, her lips or eyes would puff up. She would have a reaction to other peoples cats but she became used to her cats, unless like I mentioned, she petted the cat then touched her mouth or eyes. Another friend took lots of allergy meds & his own cat didn't bother him as much as mine. At my house he would pet my cat and get stuffy & red.
