  • I loved '95,'97,'99 The first the best...

  • Holy shit this was on my birthday! I was 3 years old!

  • the first one name please??

and where can you buy them

  • @koentjuhh18 they are all home made?

  • @habbomaffia12 yes sir...they were.

  • @koentjuhh18 STROBE ROCKET

  • strobe rockets are my fav!!!

  • @PyR0Star

If I can recall, they were "THE NEW THING" at the convention back in 91.

I don't recall reading and / or hearing much about them prior to that.

Doc Barr was still perfecting them.

They were shot in very limited quantities back then.

I might also add, that they were NOTORIOUS for throwing your camcorder out of focus whenever you were trying to video tape them. No matter what the setting, they always blurred it.

  • @basementbomber Off topic but they now have the 3d cameras where you can focus into any part of the picture.... i'll link later, but yea, cool story, my camera for fireworks sucks, so lets hope someone designs a vid camera similar to the one camera I explained and get some awesome 3d shots, or hell put a video camera on top of a shell =D

  • @PyR0Star Keep me posted on that 3-d camera. I'd be interested in it regardless.

I could have used it back then. The later the conventions, the better footage.

I usually upgraded my camera every 3 years or so. Best one I had was the Sony handy cam mini disc. It Recorded very well. Perfect for displays under 30 minutes.

  • @PyR0Star

If you think about it, all those displays are never before / never again shows.

Mostly ALL American made products & displays.

I was fortunate to be there when this hobby seemed like it was at it's apex.

After witnessing displays, such as these, It seems fairly difficult to look forward to anything worth filming these days that is remotely similar. Hard to top those...

    But that's history for ya.

  • @basementbomber i totally agree, its the same for being in the hobbie.... Once you make a kick ass firework, you somewhat don't care to see it again. You'd like to show others your work, but in a sad way I no longer care to wow my friends or family, only myself and my subscribers. America is like NAZI germany now with all the rules regulations and restrictions on everything. I like to think of myself as an ancient wizard working on magical shiz. A memory cam would be nice....

  • Thank you for this AWESOME video, thats so cool. I know some persons on this video, for example SLD;)

  • @pyrochemieNET

I Met (SLD) in my rookie year back in 91' (La Crosse, WI). We were both attending our first convention together. I arrived early on Wednesday afternoon. Later that evening I began meeting people. SLD was one of them. We remained friends ever since. I watched him go from novice to pro in only 7 years! I recall when he became an official "rocket man". We shot some candid footage together out in Fargo 93' @ the track testing the clay for nozzles & end plugs.
