Gaddafi lost the civil war with 25.000 casualties on BOTH sides. He was weak, if he was a strong leader he would have formed a conscript army of a million men and exterminate all rebels.
As much good he did to Lybia, he was no longer strong enough to rule it. Weak Leaders are useless, he died because he was weak.
If he managed to build a conscript army of 500.000 men he would have won.

@milanneskovic96 He never had 2 million soldiers. He had dismantled the army since his coup d'etat and there was no regular army. His troops consisted in elite divisions - but with few soldiers. If they got scared he didn't have soldiers, but cowards. He should have created a regular army or at least conscription laws in case of emergency. Or even used the swiss militia model of army. As I said, he failed.
