Wow, through your quick-speak /review, I actually learned somewhat how to play RPGs like this.

I have this game, and a many other great (I'm told) RPGs, like Panzer Dragoon Saga and Dragon Force on the Saturn. But RPGs are not my thing, and I fuddle through them trying to see these "great" games in action. But hearing your concise and strategic explanation of this game, makes me want to try diving in again with YOUR purposed frame of thought in how to play these type of games. Thank you.

This was the only strategy RPG I ever got into. Loved 1 and 2 on Genesis and enjoyed the GBA remake. Never played 3 on Saturn since I was mad that it was incomplete. They need to make more Shining Force games like these classics. Not the action crap.

Sega REALLY needs to like, port the English version of Scenario 1, as well as to translate the other two Scenarios & either put them onto one disc for PS3 & 360, or to just put all three Scenarios onto one cart on the 3DS (or on PSP 2 later on). I'm very positive that ANY of those consoles or handhelds can handle a game like this.

Protip: Keep yourself organized Keep your fighters up front including your leader and then keep ranged right behind him. The best battle plan is to entice them to come to you. that way they separate their ranks and allows you to ambush them. Let them come to you instead of coming to them. IT helps give you an advantage

Gasp, I was looking up Shining Force videos for the nostalgia, and I started watching this video. Half way through I realized it was TB :O. Your voice seems so different from your Cata Beta videos. :]

If you like this game TB, I suggest trying Fire Emblem. It still has the turn-based grid movement system, but with a bit less RNG.

I was wondering if you can power level or are you restricted to story-only battles. I've played games like Final Fantasy Tactics, Jeanne D'arc, and Disgaea and they all allow you to fight optional battles so you can boost your characters levels. I've been thinking about getting this game, but because my strategic thinking is a bit on the weak side, I hope that I can do a bit of power leveling in order to compensate. Any thoughts?

I've emulated games for lots of other consoles before (ps1 and 2, n64, sega genesis, super nintendo, sega cd ect) but I haven't figured out the sega saturn emulator i downloaded yet, granted i only spent about 10 minutes fiddling about with it. I suppose if you know waht your doing it wouldn't be that hard. I don't know about needing extra programs to emulate this game, its possible but i dunno why you would.

@draakgast I'm okay with computers, i can usually get emulators working, but all the saturn ones out there just kind of suck. I haven't put a lot of time into trying to get it to work though. Maybe one day I'll figure it out. If i do I'll probably make a video of it, cause a lot of people have problems with this stuff. In the meantime, I will just play my snes, genesis, and playstation emus. Those are easy to use. If u need help with any of those, I'm your man lol

I would probably flank the Hero with characters on left and right so that the enemies only have two access to the Hero. But then again, the computer might kill off your weaker characters.
