  • nissan LOL

  • GTR means " Get Tranny Replaced" nuff said.

  • check out SWITZER P800 now that can handle 850bhp, SHIT TUNERS these guys....

  • funny how 600hp breaks the gearbox but switzers cars never break and they have 700hp+ with stock gearbox :S

  • @mcmanus1806 only the torque can break the tranny, the hp doesn't matter

  • @deagle67 well if you wanna be technical then an engine only really produces torque. horsepower is a translation of that torque produced. and just to be clear im not saying that all engines with the same torque produced make the same hp.

  • building a high performance oriented car and not expecting customers to tweak it afterwards to up output is fairly stupid, sorry to all those that try to defend failures like the one we are seeing right here,

  • @CHUUMPASS If you run a car manufacturing company and produces one of the most formidable super sports cars in the world, you would not warranty any modifications either. Stop being so self-centered. That includes all the ignorant asswipes who floored the GT-R35 and abusing launch control before the cars are long before break-in, and then flat out lied claiming they always drove normally after tranny-failure occur. Wanna proect your investment? Drive it like a responsible, full-grown man.

  • @KrazeDiamond yeah man i just bought a zenki s14 off this kid man he fucked up the tranny pretty good it's sad.

  • @KrazeDiamond i dont want a sports car that has to be babied in order to survive for limited track use. i want something that can be beaten like a red headed step child and walk away.

thats the mark of a good car.

  • what car company doesn't build a car with a bit of hp wiggle room, even on stock parts? i guess they all do aside from nissan

  • There goes 25 grand.

  • I work on Vw and audis. I can say that Audis after roughly a 10 year period you cannot TOUCH a fucking thing in the engine bay without the plastics crumbling in your hands. Common areas are Vacuum T pieces, Top Hose radiators and Plastic looms to name a few.

  • @tomkkkkk audis and vw are the shittiest cars ever in terms of reliablity

  • @poop4256 precisely... And im training through VW.... I dont blame them as they are outsourcing to survive. if people were willing to spend more money on a vw and vw was prepared to Produce ALL parts within Germany no exceptions I garuntee you will be absolutely Surprised at the transformation from shit to absolutely awesome. One major fuckup is their T5's DONT GO NEAR THEM!!!!!!!

  • @poop4256 though in saying that you were wrong in saying they are the shittiest in terms of reliability.. For that I would say Great wall are shit. followed closely by Audi A6's (older early 2000's) Vw t5s are their fuck up. The rest generally are not to bad at all...... Just stay away from t5s I can list what to watch out for when buying one of those motherfuckers. pwoar

  • @tomkkkkk ya well i would say all the new ones are shit. vw/german cars went wrong when electronics came along in cars.

  • HAHAHA, fuckin' punks.

  • hahaha

  • The moral of the story is, if you have a car, it's going to break, one way or another. Face it. Things break and fail. Nothing lasts forever.

  • give it a few years when they have had some abuse and you will be able to pick a GTR up for next to nothing as no one can afford to maintain them.

  • fuck American and Japanese cars Germans all the way

  • @toker1124 fuck german cars,,they fucking fall apart and throw check engine lights every 1000 miles..all the clips sensors and plastic and wire insulation in the engine bay hardens and cracks like peanut brittle..trust me ive been throgh it..1999 Benz E320 , C280, n VW golf GTI ,,looks at consumer reports ,,german cars have the most problems by far

  • @trugemini6382 lol, find me ONE car, ANY car, not even flagship sportscar that does not have plastic clips, sensors, and wire insulation in the engine bay. And I'll show you a horse-drawn buggy. It is what it is, deal with it. I personally have all my major heat-producing components coated with thermal barriers to reduce engine bay temps on my turbocharged sportscar, but it doesnt guarantee anything, just mitigates it.

  • @ljs96076 ..of course all cars have plastic under the hood...iI said that the material that german cars use as plastic is inferior.and cannot resist heat.in 5-8 years all plastics and vacume line will break on german cars if you try to unclip or remove them.i have a 1993 ford ranger v6 and recently did tune up and water pump not 1 clip or vacume line was brittle or cracked when removed.neither did all the jap cars ive had.But when i changed my coil on my MB E320 every plastic cracked when remove

  • @trugemini6382 Talk to any Nissan 300ZX owner about brittle plastic clips and harness looms. Its all about how hot it gets, I'm not surprised a Ranger doesnt generate much heat under htere

  • @ljs96076 and neither should a 3.2L I6 N/A motor in a E320 ..i have also owned a c280 and a golf Vr6 all had the same problems..the alternator main wire was bare copper because the wire insulation had fallen apart..i have also owned a 1990 mitsubishi eclipse GSX AWD turbo..which put out alot of underhood heat..and trust me i had touched every piece of wire and plastic underhood..and i never had that problem..

  • @trugemini6382 And that means all German cars have that problem? You realise manufacturers often get their cables from different suppliers for the same model cars? It simply depends on the best price, some have good insulation, some don't. Also possibly, your alternator cable became hot because of a power drain, even one lazy jumpstart and leaving your battery to charge off the alt can cause this. Oil/fuel leak/vapour can also cause it depending on the insulation type used.

  • @ph33x no the plastic usd is inferior..they used a non heat oil resistant type..i have worked on at least 10 german cars from 1993-2001 and 8 of them had the brittle plastic problem..it happens after about 10 years

  • this is happening everywhere, if you use the launch assist on your stock gtr even just once your warranty is void, and they overheat at the track as well, with japans economy in the toilet thier building cars too not last quite so long in hopes of selling more sooner, and toyota's quality is now the worst in the world from unintended acceleration to rusting tundra frames, corolla steering, prius brakes, engine oil sludge, defective airbags, ect ect ect, time too buy american or carry a toolbox

  • Chack out my channel, I've got a clip where GT-R beats Veyron.

  • all stock transmissions will fail after lots of hard high horsepower launces. gt-r, corvette, mustang, anything really.

  • Nissan GTR gear Box is perfect , however you cant use and abuse lunch control

I ve seen people building the revs to 4500rpm while the foot in still on the brake, WTF

There is no clutch in the world that can handle such of punishment without giving up at some point , probably it would be ok in a Civic but not in a car with almost 500hp is just to much stress for gear box

If you dont punish the car the car will not punish you with the repair bills

  • Good, now you can rip that bullshit glorified auto out and put a real gearbox in.

  • Nissan failed! they should of tested and seen that it was too much abuse on tranny and lower the rpm it launches at.. AWD puts alot of stress on tranny when launching unlike rwd that the tires would break loose

  • wow morons the only reason the gtr's tranny breaks is because it launches in the same fashion as dropping the clutch when the launch control is on. Even a zr1's tranny would break just as easy if you lauch in a similar way as the gtr.

  • No it wouldnt.. ZR1 is rwd way less stress on tranny unless u running huge slicks..

plus GM will cover ur warrenty when tranny breaks using launch control

  • well you get my point, the tranny breaks because of the stress not the build quality

  • yea AWD just alot of stress.. WRX's break alot of trannies too.. but Im mad Nissan really said they not going to cover on first broken tranny. I can see if same guy came in 2 or 3 times then shows he is abusing..

  • What all you little kids fail to realize is that america doesn't make an awd sports car. We all know launching a car with awd is very hard on the tranny!

  • that is a tough transmission to take that much abuse,,,,,,,,,,,,glad they are not saying that 1000-1100hp stock tranny bullshit

  • Good ol' foreign quality XD

  • edited: check out ranger's 10 second passes in C6 Z06 BONE STOCK ONLY SLICKS.

  • Dude STFU!!

  • @antipeacemilitias It was a ZR1 and only managed 10.74. Impressive untill u see the 09 Shelby Super Snake go 10.86 with jus slicks. And then u see 2011 Shelby gt500 Goin 11.16 with jus slicks. Can wait to c what the 2011 Super Snake with 800hp does....

  • @05gt5 Errn sorry but the ranger record for a slicked Z07 got lower to 10.7x@129MPH with only drag radials

and there is he's friend did a 10.98@129MPH with 1.59 60ft in a bone stock 06 Z06 back in 07 on crappy factory run flats. check it out thay got the vid and slips to back it up

  • @antipeacemilitias i mean rangers Z06

  • so much for godzilla hehehe

and to that idiot "jonniemexico (April 10, 2009)

i guess some people are too stupid to read the info on this video. i'd like to see a ZR-1 owner do over 100 hard launches with drag radials on a stock trans and clutch with the same power output as this car." a bone stock Z06 ran a 10.8 with slicks only check out ranger's Z06 20 second passes he did more than a hundred with no issues. keep up the good work nissan ^_^

  • I think this one held up well and without the hard track launches, it would have probably lived for years off of the track.

There are plenty of strong domestic transmissions as well. The 4R70W auto put in the 98-2004 mustangs was strong as hell. There were a few people that ran 9s with them in Cobras for entire seasons. I went 10s for months with mine before it only lost overdrive and reverse. 1-3 could not be broken.

  • ow, that was painful to watch :[

  • it isnt shit, its just that the gearbox is only designed to hold the factory power level which is 480bhp, not 600whp.

  • @nrcharlie I think that's what I would call shit. What's the point of buying a car if you're not going to try an improve it out of fear that it will brake? It's funny that people criticize American cars for their quality but when something foreign brakes down they come up with a lame excuse like; it wasn't meant for this therefore it broke. LOL pathetic!

  • LOL your a tard.

Ofcourse a road car isnt made to be taken too a drag strip after being modified.

As the description said the car took more then 100 launches at 600hp+ whp before breaking and thats not bad.

  • i would say yes i expect better.. i doubled my stock HP on another car with 1000 drag strip launches nothing broke..

  • LOL bullshit.

  • No I went to the drag strip 3 times a week and ran over 10 times each day pretty much.. in the 3yrs I had the car that comes out to alot.. car started with 220wHP I had it up to 450wHP

  • Again bullshit.

And big deal your shitbox Fwd doubled its power most jap cars can do that too with standard boxes.

As has been said 4wd a big difference to Fwd. Fwd generally have the weekest boxes anyway but they also have the least amount of stress on them.

Obviously its a personal thing but i have no idea why you would even want an ugly piece of rubbish like a neon.

  • aww did someone lose to a neon now there mad..

damn everyone gets so tough on the internet..

I stated I agreed more stress on awd.. just made statement that running on street tires and only adding 25% power I think it should last longer and hopefully just break an output shaft not tear gears

u dont have to dis the neon really.. everyone has to start with something when they young and dont have money.. what r u driving.. GT-R?

  • First this car has more then a 25% increase, its up near 40%+.

Second i realize everyone needs to start with something but why a neon? They are rubbish, ide buy a honda (or any other Fwd) long before a neon. You "claim" to of spent 10k just on mods ide bet you could buy a bunch of decent cars with 10k in the US.

And last no i have not lost to a neon, ive never even seen one modified here, not that we have many anyway im pretty sure they where a failure here. And i have an fd RX7.

  • It was a SRT4 beat Mustang GT of that year on the highway and was only $20K. I wanted a new car. The engine if beefed up stock and can handle over 450wHP so its a good starting point. It was the only car of its type at the time. Good car it my insurance got cheaper for a RWD. I dont like hondas or toyotas. Kind of do prefer to buy american to keep americans with jobs.

I give u props on the 3rd gen RX-7. Really nice car. Low weight good power. Hard to find car.

  • if you want real speed, get on bikes, power to weight ratio far superior to cars, you can feel the thrust more, and not just anybody can actually ride them fast. I ride them to weed out lame ducks that dont know anything. For the love of god, do not get a busa, biggest piece of junk on two wheels, its not the speed king.

  • @un5een83 80 HP/Liter? Yes. The Chevy Cobalt SS NA.. Remarkable? Yes the ZR1 which beats this car! LOL WITH YESTERDAYS TECH!

  • @un533n83 it doesnt matter how fancy it is if it doesnt work i really liked the gtr until i found out that the trans was made of glass and that they tell there customers that the car can do a 3.5 0-60 with launch control but if you use the launch control you void your warranty and have to pay 20 thousand out of pocket, that is bullshit they shouldnt evan advertise the car with that 0-60 and another fucked of thing is that when you go and buy the car and legally commit you have to sign documents

  • saying that you understand that if you use the launch control your voiding the warranty,?!??!?! why advertise a car and sell a car with options if you cant use them? this car is a major disapointment and without the launch control this car pulls an average 0-60 time and an average 1/4 time, theres no way im spending 90k on a car and have to sign documents on MY car that if i use an option on MY car that its most porbably going to brake after a short while that i have to buy a trans for 20k..

  • new ford 5.0L

  • @IXGQ4LifeXI :

must have been developed outside the states.

  • hahaha.. nah its develop at ford.. alot of good technology went in to it. Should be a good engine.. but Im still curious to how my HP it can handle.. has a kinda high compression of 11:1

most american engine compression not too high so they can be boosted safely

  • @nrcharlie

check out a guy called hammerton510...his transmission failed 400 miles after he purchased the pos and he didnt even abuse it. this is a problem way too common for Nissans flagship $80,000 car

  • @cozzey05 They tell you not to beat on it for 2-3k miles and to change the tranny fluid at 5k miles because it is hand built and the gears have to break in. I Guarantee he beat on it once or twice and that is really all it takes until it is broke in. I know I work at Nissan and i've changed the tranny fluid on these cars and the first fluid change is full of metal from the gears breakin in.

  • @usedgoldfish full of metal from the gears breaking in just doesnt seem right. They shouldn't put a feature on a car that if you use it can void your warranty. Either that or advertise the correct 0-60 or 1/4 mile times WITHOUT voiding your warranty

  • Well if you actually read the warranty it doesn't void the warranty if you use it. It voids the warranty if you cause damage while VDC is turned off. You do have to turn VDC off to turn Launch Control on. But if you are racing your car and it breaks it should be on you for not taking car of your car and racing it. 480bhp is alot of power and if you constantly beat on a near 500hp car shit is going to break. That doesn't mean the dealership should cover the bill.

  • @usedgoldfish If you read the owners manual, it says warranty void if VDC is turned off. Nissan also states your transmission WILL fail after 10 or more launches with launch control. That doest not sound like constantly beating on it. It really sounds like you're suggesting the GTR to be more of a grocery getter than a sports car.

  • @cozzey05 I have read the owners manual. And I have also sold 4 GTR's. you have to turn off VDC to activate LC, and you have to sign a paper saying your warranty is voided if you turn of VDC, and while VDC is off, you cause damage. It is clearly stated in the manual/warranty, as well as is put into writing and you have to sign, when you pick up the car "

  • @usedgoldfish so what if you are actually stuck in snow, cant you turn VDC off then? Or will they still say you void your warranty....if that is the case why even give you the option?

  • @konic40 First of all why would you have a GTR in the snow or any sports car for that matter. But back to the question. It's will not void the warrenty to turn of VDC it voids the warrenty if you constantly take it off, or you break your car while it is turned off

  • @cozzey05 I never said the GTR is a grocery getter all i am saying is you can't expect a dealership to pay for you to go race your car and tear it up.

  • @usedgoldfish its not a grocery getter, if you put to many groceries in this it will overload the tranny and it will blow it up.

  • @nrcharlie nah ur wrong, tell me that if bmw, maserati or ferrari made a car similar (which bmw does) that it would not be engineered well enough to prevent something like this from happening. And even if you disagree they wouldnt tell people there not going to fix it unless the shell out...a lot.

  • @XxTQxX My friend , In a Automatic car try to build up the revs to 5000 rpm wile still pressing the brakes to see what happen !!! ( No Clutch can handle this type of abuse for a long time ) in a civic with only 90hp ,probably you can do it a few times ,but Not in a Car with 2 turbos and almoust 600hp

And you void your Nissan Warrentie by doing that. It will be recorded in The Nissan Black box ,You sign a contract before you buy the Nissan promessing not to do this stupid thinks

  • @nrcharlie which means its shit lol

  • @minitruckin1988 spoken like someone who has never done much drag racing

  • @ljs96076 how does that make sense u dumb fuck. the skyline is known as one of the best tunning cars out there and if the tranny can't handle any more power its a peice of shit.

PS . UR A FAGGOT LOL

  • @nrcharlie

It is shit because if you make a car that has so much power potential then why not make the tranny hold more power. I friend of mine had a GTR and the tranny went on it three times he finally got sick of it and got a lawyer and got his money back.

  • thats japanese have the power to break stuff

that japanese called your attention to watch the clip

    GTR POWER

    AMERINCAN MUSCLE LOL SUCKS

  • Is the Big 3 better than Japanese cars? You know and everyone else know the answer to that one.

  • way to go NISSANN...

  • Nissan sucks

  • yeah but your toyota probably only has a 4cyl engine...the straight six Xr6 here in australia has a 4.0L engine, compared to this 3.8L engine...they had to twin turbo it to make it fast..imagine if they twin turboed the I6...the skyline would be left for dead!

  • shit much? so you pay 150gs and then this thing dies after a few metres...i think ill keep my 150gs and buy a real car!

  • It died because it was pushing 650hp to the stock transmission... Your "real car" would do the same thing.

  • mate nissans arent built tough...its a known fact...they are built for economy, much like all jap cars...a real car is something with a V8 and gearbox to match...like i said...i aint going to spend 150gs on a V6

  • HA, built for economy much like all jap cars?!.. I think you may have gotten the words economy and quality confused.. my 91 toyota is practically indestructible!!!

  • that aint shit, I don't you have as many miles as my uncle has on his MERCURY (with zero problems) 580,000 MILES!!!!! he drove it as a taxi.

  • that's great, it was prob a V-8 large car right? Americans know how to make a good "full size" V-8 vehicle... it's the more compact V-6 and I-4 auto's that are progressively shittier.. For example, lets compare the early 90's MERCURY roadster to a 90's MAZDA roadster. Yet, I can't afford to feed a hungry V-8, so I drive an mr2T, (200+K miles, 200+Whp, 20+mpg city (with a heavy foot ; ) )) sometimes little things go wrong, then fix themselfs!!

  • that early 90s Mercury you mention is almost 100% Mazda

Same engine as an early 1st gen Miata, too.

    Just fyi, sir.

  • You're right, but that only strengthens my point... The Capri is just one of many small american cars that are actually japanese.. It's Bull shit though because Ford has been making great small cars for years, in foreign markets!! Here in america we get cheap rental car shit. For example, ford actually thought the capri would compete with the miata?!? LOL Yeah right.

  • Hey, it was also English, remember the Lotus Elan? :D

  • yeah, GM developed Isuzu powered right? I actually thought the elan was pretty slick looking.. But FWD roadsters suck, (except maybe for ladies that don't really care about driving dynamics).. Its great for eco cars and family sedans, but roadsters and sports cars? No thanks

  • Actually, no, same exact car as the Capri.

If you haven't driven one, btw, I heartily suggest you do. As close to an FWD Miata as you can possibly get. Great cars for what they are, which is an underpowered FWD shitbox.

  • no it would not ....take the supra for eg.....on stock v160 6 speed it runs more than 1500 hp..thats quality....

  • 150gs? the 2010s are 83k and 2009s are 77k. you can upgrade the trans. if you upgrade the trans and increase boost you can safely run 700 800 900 whp in an nicely balanced AWD 3.8L TT car and rape 09 Z06s and Ford GTs in the straights and on the track

  • yeah they are fast, but at the expense of their transmissions! they advertised this car to do 0-60 in 3.3 seconds. and it will only do that in launch mode(which voids the waranty, and kills the tranny soon after). if nissan wants 90 grand for this car...they need to make it more relyable...

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO that rice power is outstanding!!! LMFAO, what a way to spend 90 grand ehh boys?? at least the corvette wont wreak its tranny when it launches....wow.

  • regardless if you only like v8 cars you have to respect how quick this is

  • quick? it didnt even get down the strip...

  • not in this video but they have another where they break a world record

  • do you know what people like you are commonly called? DORKS

  • Comment removed

  • do you know what people like you(that are 32 and have spent enough time on youtube to have watched over 5000 videos?) PATHETIC!!...go get a job, and move out of moms basement hahaha...and fuck you.

  • Looks to me like he jumped the green

  • MEGA PWNAGE!!!

  • pwned

  • This is what happens if you use the "Mud Launch" system as a drag-race Launch Control (as Nissan engineers would insist, read the manual).

  • Um if by europe you mean japan than great

  • oh yes how could I make the mistake I forgot that all the mercedes, porchea's ,bmw's were from japan how could i mess that up

  • didnt saw any porche's bmw's or mercedesses here

  • that's the point of sarcasim and it's you "didn't see any porchea's

  • porsche's

  • lol, launch control? just use your foot and the clutch, it's a high performance car and it's meant to be feathered with love

  • they fixed the trans for 1500 bucks then ran a 10.47. just watched the new vid on streetfire. awesome. ZR-1 is useless.

  • lol your not supposed to modify the GTR in any way it even states in in the owners manual even aero parts since it has good readings out of the windtunnel then again I would mod the fuck out of the R35 lol.

  • i guess some people are too stupid to read the info on this video. i'd like to see a ZR-1 owner do over 100 hard launches with drag radials on a stock trans and clutch with the same power output as this car.

  • the glass car, personally i think it's a piece and comes with a bumper sticker that says my shit dont stink on it......spend the extra 20-30k for a ZR1 and have a true SUPERCAR

  • You mean America's typical solution to going fast, i.e. throw more cubic inches of engine displacement at it and save weight by making the panels out of plastic. No thanks. If I want a supercar I'll go to Europe.

  • i agree whole heartedly,brilliant point,....

  • true... so true

  • another ricer piece of shit from the japanese assembly line.

  • american can be rice too you know. just cause it canme from japan doesnt mean it's rice

  • i know.. I've seen some people do horrible things to camaros and mustangs and whatnot.

I hate japanese cars. IMHO. Im all about domestics, especially musclecars

  • Was it really necessary to call a bone stock GT-R ricer? As far as I can see the only mod was a logo on the side and a broken transmission (ha).

But yeah. I've seen it. Lambo doors on an SRT-4 and even worse shit done to mustangs and camaros. Looking at what they did to them is like getting kicked in the balls by a kangaroo. They completely ruined good cars.

  • The guys that said in the vid guessed it ;) Cause they wanted it to fuck so they can replace it to handle more power you fuck stick.

Now go die in your Hyundai

  • what makes you think i own a hyundai you fucking inbred flap twat

  • Your from Canada and your calling me Inbred? Ok thats original...haha anyhow what makes me think you DONT own one?? I rest my case. as for the inbred flap twat thing, ill go check on that since i don't even know wtf that means...nice try though.

  • Country: Canada

    This.

  • your mama..........

  • and most people dont know that the GTR has around 550 at the crank and 470 torque, and that the real number stock, so it does pump out more than the Z-06 but its still a bit slower, so thank god for launch control, its true

  • there is no evidence to it having 550 at the crank and 470nm. that is retarded. if u basein that off edmunds they dont kno the complexity of the ATTESA E-TS system and therefor dnt kno how to balance it to the crank they rounded off what other systems drivetrain loss are. besides the Z06 still has 200 more NM than the GTR and wieghs 200KGs less WTF thats pathetic that its getting schooled by a car with so many disadvantages

  • lol the one thing thats american in this car is the thing thats giving it issues. shuda let nismo do the tranny

  • dude please why would you lie like that, american trannies dont break like that, let me guess nissan asked america to help them with the enginering of their most beloved car huh, Z-06 Z-06 hint hint

  • help with the engineering?

since america designed that tranny all thats been happening is accumulations saying that "if u use LC the tranny will hit the concret becuase its too weak" so thanks 4 the help america but no thanks. nd for the 2010 GTR's theyre using a differnt DSG box now from som1 reliable.

nd ur last line "Z-06 Z-06 hint hint" was that implieing that they had to sabotage the GTR in order to give the Z06 a chance? of which it had none

  • no what im sayin is that the Z-06 is a better made race car in all areas includin brakin, acceleratin, top speed, fuel economy, and you can drip it and do massive burn outs, not so much in the GTR 35 OR 38 i should say, the Z achieves all this w/o the use of turbos, so do u agree

  • "Z-06 is a better made race car in all areas" ahh no

    Z06

    0-100kph 3.8-4.0

    0-160kph 7.8

    button willow(homecourse), tsukuba, TG test track and the NUR= 2:02, 1:05, 1:22.4, 7:42

    GTR

    0-100kph 3.2-3.5

    0-160kph 7.8

    button willow, tsukuba(1 homecourse), TG test track and the NUR= 1:56!!, 1:01!!, 1:19.8, 7:29!!!

these numbers humiliate the Z06 even thou its 200KG!!!!! lighter. has 25 more bhp a massive 200NM more torque, 3.2 liters more displacement! thats shamefull...

  • its also 2wd moron

  • So. formula 1 is 2wd does that mean that to get better handlin out of a F1 it needs to 4wd no use ur fuckin head

  • if anyone is wondering, a tranny for a gtr is 20 grand

  • All i have to say to you is PPG gear sets for the gtr.. 1k for a new first gear which causes the problems for launches!

Check it out before your start swearing...

  • Fail.

  • what POS. honda FTW!

  • haha funny

  • So if Nissan is going away from the launch control system, why don't they just make a manual.

I'm sure there is a market of drivers that would prefer it.

  • they do have a manual coming out and i also heard a 7-speed dual clutch and maybe a sequential but its supposed to be only intended for track use. supposedly the manual does not pass emissions and japan didn't want to deal with us customs and regulations. i think it may be legal in japan though. this is just what i've researched. no direct info

  • You just made my day bro, thanks!

I wonder if they'll use that rev-match synchro system from the Nissan 370Z....

    or maybe that's too hoakey.

  • not too hokey since the gtr strives for most technically advanced and innovative anyway but i don't think they will since the sychrorev is for 3 pedal manuals and only gt racing gtr's have 3 pedal manual and they most likely won't be allowed but who knows

  • Oh, I thought you meant there was a 3 pedal manual coming out.....

That's really what I want. I know the Sequential gearboxes are a bit faster but I really prefer a true manual.

  • you can still buy it but it will be really expensive and probably not street legal. might as well swap the tranny with a custom manual. blitz has already done. stripped the drive train and added a rwd manual for drifting. its a 3 pedal but i think its sequential. the housing sits so far back for weight balance that you would have to ruin the balance to add an h shifter

  • Good point. I forgot Nissan put the tranny so far back for the benefit of weight distribution. I guess there won't likely be a true 3-pedal manual for this car.

I'll look up that Blitz kit though. Thanks for the info bud.

  • Thats strange. What does the transmission have to do with emissions ?

  • yes GM is voiding the entire warranty on the ZR1 if it is tracked or raced

  • I wanted someone to scream "Nissan power" when he blew his transmission

  • What a piece of crap. After 7 years of "engineering", and all that propaganda for being faster than a Porsche 997 Turbo, it only did 4 inches from the starting line at 0.000003 miles per hour. The driver should have just walked.

  • ya'll sum dumb ass bitches, you make power, you break shit!! is that too hard to understand? american designed tranny, stupid emission laws.

  • that just shows us..how shit these cars truly are

  • no, that just shows us how sorry you are.. hahahahahaaaaa..... BITCH!!!!
