@theaterattendee This was punishment for Crush protesting the screwjob. He did this to hurt Crush's credibility heading into WCW. Vince is a great wrestling business man but he as anyone makes mistakes. Crush was one of his mistakes. Road Warrior Animal thinks Vince fucked up with the LOD/Demolition feud. Animal thinks it shouldve been a back n forth rivalry ultimately ending with both teams gaining respect for eachother and becoming an alliance. Christian is who theyre messing up with now.

@JimmDonahue I don't understand how that was punishment for Crush though, I think in wrestling it's a tradition to put another guy over on your way out, so Crush put Kane over as a dominant monster heel who could hosoitalize someone.and I don't see how taking a fake wrestling move from somebody is punishment to hurt they're credibility, especially since Brian Adams didn't debut in WCW until February of 1998 like 3 months after this. Brian Adams never had a lot credibility anyway mid-card guy.

@theaterattendee Nah buddy lol. The chokeslam wasn't the punishment. Making his character look like a wimp who got ran out of the federation from one beating, was the punishment. Vince was pissed for him bailing on his contract in protest. In WCW, they made him even wimpier and more obnoxious than before he was in Demolition. He completely regressed and was forced to put over smaller and lesser known wrestlers. He had all the tools and talent to be a top flight wrestler. He got treated like shit

He's lived that lifestyle for most of his life as he's been riding bikes, sporting the bandana and acting like a real badass all through his career. If you've seen "out of the ring" pics, you'll know what I mean. When it came time for him to drop the Deadman gimmick, it was a natural transition.
