@reelthing4u the glass (often quartz) paddles do work, but they do not retain the heat that a titanium skillet does. I understand your concern about smoking from metal ... but titanium can withstand very high temps before leeching out harmful materials. I'm not a scientist, so dont quote me -- but someone said that glass actually leeches at a lower temp than Ti does...

either way, i've found the Ti paddles and nails to burn VERY clean.

@reelthing4u the glass skillets work fine too (especially the quartz glass due to more durability), but regular borosilicate glass will eventually crack or shatter when heated to red hot over and over for skillet (or nail) purposes... also, some people would rather use glass than titanium. on a personal level, i am fine with either. - Gil

i have a ti nail and they are way better then the skillet i gotta say especially with the 18 to 14 or 18 to 18 its more then enough surface area unless your trying to hit like .7 of a dab at once.. they work better, retain heat longer, and they focus your smoke through your piece a lot more efficiently. And they are more sleek and compact, and less messy... Titanium Nail 10 to 1 over a skillet any day

@reelthing4u I have a glass skillet and a titanium. With the glass you kind of have to take a small hit because it cools quickly BUT it has a slightly better taste. With titanium you get much milkier bigger hits. I highly prefer the titanium.

If you don't think that a shop owner wouldn't put on his best show for someone he knew was a critic, you are way off. Our assistant at Westword still gets emails from shops asking when i can come in so they can have their best stuff out for me.

I prefer to keep it a bit more honest than that, and the best way for me to do do that is to keep it anonymous.
