YEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! I have been looking for this song/music video for literally 5 or 6 years - it's been so long that I can't even remember exactly when I first saw this video on TV. All I had to go by was that:
- the film clip had cartoon alien tree-things, and
- one of the guitar riffs kinda sounds like the one from 'My Hero' by Foo Fighters
Ween are such a weird interesting and amazing band. They are truly musically talented and creative and choose to continuously change genres and styles- like every song! This song actually sounds like a great tune by Stone Temple Pilots. Not a specific tune, I just mean the general style. It's a fantastic song.
First of all I am a huge fan of both bands outstanding bands that they are! Anyhow My hero by the Foo Fighters was released on The Colour and the Shape album in 1998, and Weens' Transdermal Celebration was released on there Quebec album in 2003!!!
SO is it possible or is it obvious you do not know shit about music? Obviouslly?
Without Ween our world would be a remarkably darker place to live in. Their inspiration reaches the far corners of the universe and will continue to do so as long as light still streaks vision across our lands and into our minds.
I disapprove the opinion that the boognish are evil... a hint towards this would be the fact that they are dancing for the baby to keep it happy and laughing.
No, the video (which, in this case, manages to capture the meaning of the lyrics) is a celebration of the cycle of life, from my point of view.
@Cronopul I think you're right. They don't represent evil. They represent nature. The forces guiding both death and rebirth. It's a little boognish that is borne at the end of the video. They are a metaphorical equivalent of nature. Both death and life. The process that keeps continuing on, and changing. Transdermal Celebration. How life evolves.
my kid & i used to cover this song & other ween numbuhs in the basement. me on guitar, him on drums. now he's 17, in his own band, and he dosen't even talk to me, anymore. hmmm.
Ween has been consistently putting out solid albums since early 90's. They are my fav alt band of all time. They can play any instrument and nail live covers from Led Zepp to Prince. I have seen them 3x and they have the best live show of any of the 100+ bands I have seen live. I even got to hang out with them after a show at Clutch Cargo's on the White Pepper Tour.
@chrishuhnke Why do you have to tease me like that! I've never seen Ween live, but for the first time in my life, I think I might actually have a chance. I'm trying to win a trip to see them at Lollapalooza this summer - please thumb up my video (video with the most thumbs up wins)! Seriously, you can't bring up how awesome they are live and then not help me - that'd be messed up!
Love the song, hate the clip. Seriously, it's possibly the most horrible thing I've ever seen, and I want to torture every single one of those things for what they did to that poor little baby. :(
@NickNorie15 A lot of people do. I've never seen the appeal. I think the idea of a beautiful planet is lovely, but the idea of such a planet existing with nothing alive to appreciate it except for nasty little white things is awful.
Also, I'd rather all the humans died than become trees. I think I'd sooner kill myself than live through such a change, knowing I'd eventually lose the ability to think and move and feel.
@xXRubella666Xx whattt?! Lol I love it! it's kinda of sad at first, but then the tree grows that that part of that baby hops away with one of thos Baby boognish. Very epic video =]
So a line that speaks of waves touches on a tsunami that happened eight years later? How exactly? It's not like Tsunamis have only started happening since.
I'm sorry I don't see any similarity between them and the Beatles... if you want to compare them to a classic rock band, then I'd say they bare a closest resemblance to Pink Floyd.
why is this the only copy of this song I can get on You Tube....someone post this with better quality.please...I have to listen to all the subtle parts of the music that's what makes Ween so fantastic and timeless.
@Nugui91 i feel in love with them from 1993,,, push the little daises made me like them ,,but after hearing "The Pod " on a high day with great headphones,,, it changed my life !!!!!!! god bless ween!!! ween bless god!!!!!
This song is so beautiful...I almost shed a tear watching it...
I decided to look Ween up today after only knowing "Push th' little daisies" for a long while, and this is the first song I've looked up by them; mind = blown.
It's funny that this song, released in 2003, touches on the tsunamis that followed afterwards and especially recently. Watch :52 through 1:14. "Tectonic tribulation, formed a crust of green beyond the reef. Waves fell in formation, caused the plants to bend with spi-ked leaves."
Just getting to know the band, would anybody help me out? I'm more interested in this kind of pop-rock music than their crazier stuff, are there some albums to be recommended?
