I love my Uzi, I got 6 of them (I'm a collector) its the most reliable gun I've ever owned - ergonomic and beautiful to look at - for short range QCB it is outstanding, and one thing it has over the MP5 is it fires from an open bolt (SMG version) and won't cook off rounds when they are chambered on a closed bolt. The Navy SEALS have had 3 accidental shootings due to their closed bolt

@tapper45 ughm imi uzi demos are imported from Israel, they can only be sold to class 3 holders, but still there imported from the Israel military inc, they also made semi autos that were imported into the united states, but they still do import full auto imi built uzis for demo class 3 license holders, I'm not shore about the semi versions though

also parts kits are being imported to, but only to class 3 holders as well and not general public, considering those parts are only going to be good or usable with full autos, a lot of people are under the impression that they are un-importable for some reason, but remember they are only available to class 3 holders

i own quite a few class 3 nfa weapons and i am not able to import new uzi parts kits.

class 3 nfa weapon manufacturers (which hold class 2 manufacturing licenses) may be able to receive them after they are imported.

further importation of the uzi type firearm, among many others was banned a while ago.

luckily there are still a lot of them available, just expensive.

@tapper45 import ban is used against common citizens and even if you own nfa 3 weapon your still considered a regular citizen, but i know of a local gun smith who local countys as well as Harris county have all of there weapons brought to for service, he is the man who has a imi manufactured uzi, just recently imported, he has already got 2 parts kits of imi manf, but he has imported mp5s along with others but there all demos for local law enforcement agencies including swat,

i'm military and the batfe still considers us the same as regular citizens/civillians when it comes to nfa purchases. the neal knoxx report, small arms review, the annual blue book from the batfe etc say that further importation of uzi parts kits has been banned.

@tapper45 yeah, not just purchases, but what you actually can purchase as well, you cant have a current model uzi imported, but yet the license holder i described earlier can to demo to local and federal law enforcement and swat, also I'm curios as to the imports rules because i do know the local gun smith has current replacement part kits ordered for the current model uzi being used, as well as mp5 and a few others, but does that rule your describing for common citizens ? or for the demo holder

@xonny7 Thats unfair comparison, Israel wanted a SMG that was cheap, easy to manufacture and reliable. The MP5 is a outstanding weapon but was made for different purpose.

in the event that you run into that problem you can form a llc or in some instances a trust and then have the transfer done in the llc or trust's name.

then there is no issues with the cleo sign off.

Just find a local gun dealer that handles class 3 weapons. Then go see him and he will help you do the paperwork. It involves getting your local sheriff to sign off on your background check, paying a 200 dollar tax, and the price of the machine gun

lol ok, if you really wanna buy an UZI, go to your local gun store and talk to someone there about it. you have to get a class 3 license before you can own any automatic weapon, so theres going to be alot of expensive background checks and such. but then after all that im sure theres lots of gun stores that you could order one from.

btw, i dont think you could buy one from the triad even if you wanted to.

I can understand were you are coming from on this, in fact I know first-hand that it isn't good to shoot at others even with a less-than-lethal weapon such as an airsoft gun. I got nailed in the left eye by a 12 yr. old kid. By the grace of God, I made ot O.K. I only shoot my Uzi at inanimate objects, such as a sticky target made for such a purpose. As for O.B.L. God will deal with him if He hasn't already!
