If you've traveled to Egypt like I have--visited traveling Egyptian collections--you'd see that Egyptians did not normally paint themselves black, but rather everything from fair to reddish brown to dark brown. Trust me, black Africans had little or no presence or impact whatsoever on Greek civilization. Egyptian culture, however, certainly had an impact. I wrote two well-received Harvard papers on Greek kouroi statues--"Tyrannicide Statues of the Athenian Agora" and "Kritios Boy"--based their assumed continuity from Egyptian freestanding sculpture.

The folks that lived without high status maybe were black or not but almost all ruling people in egypt were semitic (not caucasian, though). Just look at photos of mummies (for example Ramses II). He has long semitic nose (big nasal bone), big chin, small forehead. This is typical semitic facial features. Typical african features (there are two african skull types actually) are SMALL chin, BIG forehead, small nasal bone.

@prolaser Look at Ramses II's MUMMY not ART. Art will always portray people idealistic. Long hooked nose was never ideal of beauty even in semitic cultures (despite that almost all of them have it). If you've traveled to Egypt like I have--visited traveling Egyptian collections--you'd see that Egyptians did not normally paint themselves black, but rather everything from fair to reddish brown to dark brown. The folks that lived without high status maybe were black or not but almost all ruling people in egypt were semitic (not caucasian, though). Just look at photos of mummies (for example Ramses II). African pyramids are hollow tombs. Mesoamerican pyramids are solid structures meant to raise the temple on top away from the Earth. Egyptions were around in 1650 BCE, and the Aztec in 1450 AD. That timeline doesn't allow for the Egyptians to influence the Aztec at all. I'm not gonna be lectured on ancient history by someone who can't use a complete sentence or punctuation marks.

I've seen enough painting on temple walls to know that when Egyptians depicted Africans, they depicted them as jet black, and that they depicted themselves as tan whites. Ever seen a painting of a Kushite emissary? Jet black skin. Paintings of Menkaura, a Fourth Dynasty ruler, show him as tan with RED HAIR. Ever seen a black guy with red hair? Didn't think so.

Dark skinned doesn't equal Black. The Greeks describe Romans as darked skinned on several occaisions. The Romans described the Persians as dark skinned, and look at people in Iran today. They also described the Picts of Scotland as dark skinned, but DNA from Pictish graves shows them being almost identical to the Finnish. The European settlers described the Native Americans they encountered as dark skinned. The Japanese decribe the Koreans as dark skinned people.

I've been to Mexico and talked with their descendents who live in villages like they have for centuries, and they have the same facial features as the Olmec heads, but are Native Americans, not Africans.
