@Bakerbrds Coil spring suspensions offer more range of suspension movement, and allow the user a wider tuning envelope through the suspension range. Practically all high performance trucks use coil springs. Coil spring suspensions also usually perform better, having better engineered geometry than leafs.
@Bakerbrds Since these leafspring attach at fixed points on the chassis, they give very little room for adjustability of suspension geometry.
These springs also flex a great deal less than coil springs, resulting in a loss of wheel-to-ground contact under extreme conditions.
For heavy, industrial or budget-limited , leaf springs will usually do an acceptable job . However, there are very few applications which will benefit from leafs over coils where performance is concerned.
@hjaltigto I absolutely agree with your statement, even though you're a jackass and just copied that from ehow (dot) com (after google searching "leafs versus coils.") And you generalization that trucks with leaf springs are not "REAL" offroad trucks is a half brained statement.
@Bakerbrds haha bakerbirds wins...and im insulted to hear 4runners are less capable aparently...i guess all those magazines and competitions and internet articles are wrong eh?
NICE! What do you run for gearing? Must be dual 'cases. Looks comparable to mine, axle wrap and all, lol (2.28 & 4.7 with 4.10 axle gears). Just bought a set of tj 6" lift coils to 4 link the rear and take care of the axle wrap. Love your 'runner!
never sad fake.....
a lot less capable offroad though

@Bakerbrds still the truth

@hjaltigto so the truth is "REAL offroad trucks do not have leafsprings?" Do you not realize how stupid you sound?

@Bakerbrds not really
hjaltigto 6 months ago
@hjaltigto then tell me how you classify "real" offroad trucks from "fake" offroad trucks?
