@YortonJunction00 - Its taking longer than I thought to complete but nearly there. I find drawing it out useful but I still think only putting the track down on the boards and running trains gives you an accurate idea of how your trains will operate on any given plan.
@streamlinedtrains - I would prefer a longer run but providing I get the tunnels and scenic break right hopefully it won't look like the trains are chasing their tails! Still not sure if funds will allow for the reversing loop module and wiring - I might just stick with the existing branch terminus on the upper level and siding on the lower level for my Pendolino.
@puttrainguy - I'm looking forward to putting the reversing loop in (only track left to lay now). I hope it will add more operational interest, i'll just have to figure out the wiring. Might consider putting in a power bus.
@ThomastheE2engine - I did initially intend to put a passing loop at the branch station but there just is not the space for the points to give any sort of length for a decent sized train to operate. That's one reason why I am thinking about the return loop design. I would like some more sidings near the start position, however that part of the layout is accessed by 1st radius curves which limits the locos which could access it bar shunters - I suppose it could lead to prototypical operating!
@aceplaya147 - I just used power point to roughly figure out the sort of layout I wanted - no measurements done. I then bought the track and modified the plan a little to make it fit.
run a line on the ply bord as a coal depo
or a branch line stashon

what did you use to draw this?

I like this design! I often build layouts which work this way.

That looks very cool.. lots of operating possibilities... Having a reverse loop is a huge help too.. I made sure I had 2 when I redid my layout...

I think you should (if you have room) put a passing loop at the branch station as it would alow more running opertuneitys.
also where the train started from i think you should put small goods yard or carrige sidings or both.
also thought about engine sheds?

@helloimearl1 - thanks, as you can see from some of my other vids most is completed track wise. Scenery will take a while though i think

nice layout, what program did you use to make the track plans?
