@thatdrattedcat Actually the Social Democrats in Germany and the Christian Democratic Union aren't really right or left. Both of them are centrists, and that's why in Germany the coalition isn't called left-right coalition, but grand coalition. They are the two major parties, and none of them are radical in any sense.

Both of them can actually be called social democrat, because the "conservatives" have adapted to the German Zeitgeist, which is kind of a mild left wing mentality.

@ukbb25 - Crime has fallen under labour, even if the more bizarre, front page, head-chopped-off sort of crimes have increased, but that's not something easy to control. The NHS has broadly improved despite McCarthyist stories in the Daily Mail about 'red tape'. Immigration laws HAVE become increasingly restrictive. As for 'political correctness' or "white male being treated as a minority' arguments, those arguments are so ineffably stupid I'm sure you cannot be reasoned with.
