  • Really, that is really interesting. I never knew that. I always just read about it as Host's; I never knew that someone put words to the melody. (Btw, sorry for the delayed reply.)

  • Clarify. Originally written without lyrics in Holst's Planet Suite. THEN, this section was taken and had lyrics put in them to create a war-torn Britain's national hymn, i.e. "I vow to thee my country."

  • the planets written by holst in the 1800's is probably one of the most time friendly pieces around...it stilll sounds out of this galaxy...holst was a genius...he desetrves his dues cause he never got rich
