That's sort of obvious: Its really costly, and it is hard to make. These things aren't cheap, nor easy to make. Weight is also a problem in that it probably would weigh tons, and it might trip over on its own weight. Also it takes a long time to construct something that large, years maybe.

Not a chance those custom bots cost many thousands of dollars and are very hard to build, without the fancy operation system like that.
That kid is the creators son, you can see the real creator after the match with the robot.
