The bear was close enough to instantly kill the cat at any point, especially since the cat wasn't running. If the bear did hit it, they would stop laughing.

It is not only size, most animals are not aware of their own size but they aware of the size of their opponent. I was not worried because I have seen cats take on large animals before, and bears are not normally violent animals. The majority of the food a bear eats comes from plants, and almost all the meat they eat is from scavenging. Bears have a very bad reputation, but in reality they are not normally violent creatures. I find the sad part about this video is that this bear has learned to get food from humans beings, which can cause the bears many problems in the future.
