@xarkinx It's kind of pushing the limit..but HD 6670 doesn't require any pin connector, power is taken from the PCI slot. But still I wouldn't couple it with a 300W PSU, especially if the PSU is the generic (no brand) type.

Yes most definitely.Your CPU is more than fast enough, the GPU will be the thing holding you back. You should still easily see 40-50 fps or better on mix of high/medium settings without AA.

P.S. I just ordered the sapphire 6670 myself to beef up my aging phenom dual core system (on the cheap) for bf3 and skyrim :)

It's branded "athlon 64 x2 7750BE" 2.7ghz stock. Actually it's a phenom i with two cores disabled. Clock for clock it identical athlon II x2. I'm running it at 3.0Ghz with only +0.05V and 50-52c running Orthos. Too bad my mobo can't unlock cores, I could likely get 1-2 for free.

This should handle what I need it to for now (skyrim and bf3 on med). Unless I can get a cheap am3 quad or a mobo to unlock the extra cores, I'll just wait a while and get a FX-4/6 and am3+ mobo.

Sapphire and XFX are companies which manufacture cards using the chipset technology from AMD (who own ATI). Sapphire and XFX are both great brands, neither will do you wrong just focus on the chipsets, other hardware specs, and of course price. I've always liked sapphire, the first card I bought from them was a radeon 9600 XT (this was before the X### cards). It still worked long after it and all the other components of that system were hopelessly outdated.

@bugsenbunny Well, the i3 is not the best choice for gaming, but if you play with the 6670 you can run it fine on higher resolutions and medium settings, so don't worry^^

But what do you mean with 720p? 720p is 1280x1080 and this is pretty low on PC, PS3 and Xbox360 use this resolution.

You could play BF3 on 1680x1080 or 1920x1080 at Medium.

@bugsenbunny Well with a higher resolution you can see more of the environment, FULL-HD monitor costs like 200 bucks.

But the 6770 is even better, so you won't have problems playing BF3 on 720p :-)

Yes you'll definitely be fine with high settings or better and maybe even some AA at 720p resolutions.

P.S. You may want to look at some 1080p led backlit monitors, your system can handle it and take it from me it looks just amazing. I had convinced myself that I didn't need a big monitor too. that was before I saw my 21.5'' 1080p led monitor on sale for $125 =D

@GaragyVlad No fucking way you get this FPS with a 6670 1080P and Amd X4 i have an i7 2600k and a Nvidia 560 SC and when i max out BF3 on Caspin border i get around 20 fps outside when i fly or on the ground and my i7 2600k is at 4.4 ghz

@MrBALAKUMARA Why should it not be? The HD6750 is a mid-range gaming card! It's enough horse power to run any game out there at max settings! Hell, the toughest challenge I've had with it, is Tribes Ascend, which is at a constant 100% GPU Usage (maxed out) with 45-50FPS.

BTW does the 6670 require only pci-e slot or two- meaning is it small enough to only need one?
