It's all messed up but I have to agree with the comments referring to how Makoto deserved to have such a bad ending. It was mostly his fault for his inability to fess up to what he did wrong and take responsibility the correct way. He should've told Kotonoha from the beginning when he realized he wanted Sekai and not her. And he should've done the right thing and stayed faithful to Sekai. Just goes to show though how most guys think with the head in their pants like usual I suppose though...

From what I read about it, the ending is pretty warped... Sounds like the game has a lot of possible paths, with only 3 ending in one of the main characters dying.

He liked Kotonoha, the only reason he went with Sekai over Kotonoha was because Sekai was willing to fuck him and be more open early while Kotonoha was more shy and reserved about all of that until the end when she was able to confess everything outright which was hard for her to do so early on. After her confession Makota even apologizes saying he never knew thats how she felt. Basicially it comes down to Makota not willing to wait.
