@er10b A TAS is recorded with an emulator. You slow down the game as much as possible, down to the frame. For each and every frame in the game you choose what input to be made. During the process you constantly use save states for perfection.

@VulxaniSolas Glitching and hacking are two VERY different things. Cheating is when you break rules. In a TAS you are supposed to record with an emulator using its tools, that is the purpose of the category and should not be compared to real time runs.

Cheating would be to make a TAS and say it is a real time run, as you would break the real time run rules.

Hacking is changing the way the game is, using glitches is using what is already built into the game. HUGE differences.

Slow motion (Frame Advance) i used to overcome the human reflexes and save states to undo the human errors. Using any cheat devices or hacking the game is not allowed, you are only allowed to use what the game has to offer and not change the way it behaves.

You only have a raw copy of the original game to work with and everything done in a TAS can be done on console with the same input.
