  • And with all the comments Rick Santorum has made recently, it seems the President was right . . .

  • Idk what is wrong what he was saying sounds right to me

  • GOP gains in the 2010 midterms - a barometer for a president's popularity - are a prime example of how out of touch this is . He got creamed. You get smiles at a cocktail party on the Upper Wast Side sure but it's politically stupid and betrays the smug arrogance an out-of-touch president. I'm reminded of Manhattan critic Pauline Kael after the '84 election in which Reagan destroyed Mondale. Kael said "But I don't know a single person who voted for him (Reagan)." Reagan took 49 states.

  • Mr. President: Millions of Americans are pro-2nd Amendment and have been well before you were born. Many millions more are religious. Many millions also want illegal immigration under control as over 30% of our federal prisons house illegals and they're an immense problem on social services (Los Angeles spends $1 billion/yr on taxpayer funded illegal healthcare). As for jobs, check unemployment and crime where it's highest. Both are always highest in bastions of liberal democrats.

  • Dont understand why any Clinton would work with this president. He slashes the clintons here and all the time. Bill Clinton may have been liberal, but at least he loves America, and its foundation. Barrack despises it and if he could go back in to rewrite the condtitution, he would.

  • This president should have been a psychiatrist rather than a politician. We'd all be better off with him out working on people who like to cling to their guns instead of trying to win their votes. What will he be clinging to after the 2012 election? His Muslim religion?

  • its true. every redneck loves his god and his guns. fuck your god. he isn't real. deal with it.

  • How do guns and bibles go together? Do not kill and love your enemies are what I recall.

  • @Maytons most people don't practice what they preach. besides, the republican party is well known for being comprised of "good, god fearing" christians who looooooooooove their second amendment rights to bear arms that they really don't need

  • @nvr2late666 There are a few of us who walk the walk. I follow the Jesus that said love one another, not the one that said police the world and kill who you wish. I have no reason to own a gun because I have no enemies. =)

  • @nvr2late666 And why aren't they needed?

  • He said nothing I disagree with. I've been to small town pensylvania, and I've seen the people. That is practically the Deep South for all intents and purposes, besides the accent.

  • @jerzy862 Your so damn superior ! " Small Town " , " Seen the People " , " Deep " South. Your trained well to fragment this country ! You are a extremely isolated and ignorant ! But the news is we are glad you guys showed your true colors . We are stronger than you.

  • @MrRichardbryan I dont recall receiving training from anyone Mr. Bryan but I do stand by my comments. There's a very good reason Pennsylvania went for Hillary Clinton and yes, it DID have to do with race.

  • There is a nice song now "God and Guns" this speech may have helped get that written. After three and a half years nothing has happened within Mr. Obama's regime to make any improvement for their conditions in fact things are worse now. So Mr. Obama shows his foolishness and the wisdom of the people with their God and Guns because they would never let down the American people the way this President has.

  • @potent454 i love that song

  • The ignorant gun-toting bible crazy Americans are a danger.

  • I live in a small town. We have guns. We have religion. And we sure don't have anything any better than it was before --only worse. Thanks Big O!

  • Maybe he's right.

I don't care how "politically uncorrect" this is, but if there weren't so many people clinging to "God and guns" then this statement wouldn't have made so much controversy!

I absolutely cannot stand that so MANY people, when faced with a big, complex issue, are able to be so narrow minded. They can take a single phrase and turn it into a controversy that is more important than a 2-hour speech.

I'm not talking about this! I'm talking about the countless times it's happened...

  • Maybe those bitter people should relinquish their guns and take the 'intercontinental railroad' to Washington to genufect before the almighty moron and repent the sin of loving their country. Bow to our first affirmative action president people!

  • THE TRUTH IS I WILL KEEP MY GOD MY MONEY AND MY GUN YOU CAN KEEP YOUR DAMN CHANGE OBOZO!

  • @slayerkendra Your God doesn't exist...

  • @Tazirai Then that means your rights don't exist. Or your consciousness. Or morals.

  • Obama's a one-term chump! Ron Paul 2012!

  • o he was soooooooooo wrong about Americans clinging to their guna and bibles

  • I don't know why people are getting mad. I've lived in the Midwest and South most of my life. And they do cling to religion and guns. You can find a gun store or church every few miles.

  • @jxsilicon9 because of the condiscending nature of the comment. Like it is a bad thing to exercise or God given rights, and constitutional rights to freedom of religion and right to bear arms. Not to mention he said we have antipathy for immigrants, not so much immigrants as illegal immigrants, but he cannot utter the words illegal immigrant. Its the law and they are illegal period, quit pissing down our backs and telling us its raining Obama.

  • @jxsilicon9 Because he's implying they're primitive. And they're not, since the conservative regions sup[ply most of our industries.

  • @HolyknightVader999

You're reading too much into it. He obviously is just talking about they don't have much to believe in so they hold on to what they know.

  • @jxsilicon9 Yeah, but he still worded it to be an insult. Which is why they're angry. He was insulting them and they knew it.

  • Sure as hell clinging to my guns with you and your socialist buddies ruing our country. At least my guns speak the truth obama, something you have a hard time doing.

  • The truth is absolute - not a point-of-view

    see the channel,..

    or angrydude net

  • Well its true.

  • WHAT AN IGNORANT SICKENING PIECE OF......

  • the '08 election was a failure of journalism. plain and simple. maybe Mccain would have still lost if the media weren't in the tank for Obama but the slobbering love affair they had with The One is pathetic

  • Nigger

  • @Beadwindow2020 Southerner.

  • he speaks the truth! and the truth hurts!

  • @tgarry01 The truth of his statement is relative and not provable. The bottom line is, he is throwing constituents under the bus. He is essentially talking shit on the very people he was elected to serve. This is the kind of thing the more self-absorbed rulers in the monarchy of England used to say and think.

  • You are amusing Barry...

  • From rural Maryland and I cling to my guns and religion!!!! I am proud of it too!!!!!

  • This would be ashaming if the stereotypes that he's talking about were not true. :(

  • im sorry but he is telling the truth some how many believe in GOD country and guns and it is very true when it come to small towns i know i live in a big city all my life and been a small own for 3 years and they really believe in things in that order , however what they seem to not understand is a truth to the core of your heart christian cant believe in the GOD of the heaven and at the same time believe in guns and war in the bible it say his people will lay down their weapons

  • Really? He told the truth about our state is bold faced lie. Look it up-last 30/40 yrs my state emulates the country in unemployment. Whem we had the highest unemployment rate, so did my state. When our country has had the lowest unemployment rate, so has my state. I do not think you are very good understanding the bible. We cannot believe in guns or war? So what is happening-did we in PA decide to start killing Muslims, did the state of Pennsylvania declare war on Muslims?I must have missed that

  • What he said wasn't inaccurate at all. What he said was that people tend to "cling" to what they know when they feel they've lost everything. That's simply human nature to do such things. People hold onto sanctimonious beliefs about who they thought they once were. It's the same thing some Muslims in the middle east do.

  • Let me guess-you are the exception to the rule? Or only people from Pennsylvania? So when did anyone in Pennsylvania become unglued-unhinged and not able to handle life except in a bubble when everything is orderly and right? There is quite a bit of error in saying this about Muslims. What can you tell me about human nature when you seem fine broad brushing and judging others. In fact, did you ever think maybe you are the problem? That perhaps you should apply those comments to yourself?

  • It's easy to look down of people who need to carry their own guns while the Secret Service does it for you, Obama. As for religion, you hold to a world view where the government is god.

  • I am a Christian and I do not understand why so many others that call themselves Christians are so obsessed with guns... It's almost disturbing to me. We are supposed to be Christ-like. Can you ever see Jesus carrying a gun or advocating shooting anyone? Of course not. Some people I hear talking about their guns and it's almost like they are waiting on an excuse to shoot someone. People should not associate Christians with guns but that is what our society has come to.

  • @jakehubbb Jesus COMMANDED his disciples to buy swords. Which at the time was the most deadly weapon known to man. So your point is???

  • @jakehubbb You mean to tell me that people in Pennsylvania shoot other people? Seems it should not be too hard tounderstand when per capita more people from my state serve in the armed forces-The Marines were started in Philly-our declaration of Independance written in my state. Also, the constitution written in my state. Quite often many will advocate like you do and find it hard to believe when most people are murdered are murdered in big cities. Last year we had a murder-first in 10 yrs

  • 270 democrats were FIRED last November... this punk is out next vote...

He can always move back to the middle east where they will hail him as a hero

  • Yes I do cling to my faith in God and many of my fellow patriotix Americans cling to God and guns. They are our rights and our freedoms and you mr obama are evil! and better not dare try and take our freedoms

  • Please don't let the door hit your wifes fat ass on the way out of the white house in 2012

  • @grapeview61 HA HA Great comment

  • There could not be a more true statement. It is unreal how religious people carry the bible in one hand while carrying a gun in the other.

  • @theshadowify Yes, how dare Americans enjoy two freedoms such as freely worshipping and protecting themselves from progressives?

  • @NCMan28025 Yes there could not be no more polar opposites than the bible and guns, but because you people are such paranoid nuts, they go hand in hand.

  • @theshadowify You are the paranoid one. scared because someone has a gun or rifle. Do you have a passage which shows we cannot defend our homes and our loved ones? I do not think most like you never read the bible. I am willing to say I do not have statistics on this in front of me-but willing to wager that most who murders did not legally purchase their gun or rifle

  • @daveme7 Your english grammer is very bad. So when you say "I do not think most like you have never read the bible", I am going to assume you mean that "I think that most like you have not read the bible." I would say that most people have not read the bible, but that does not mean that they dont fit in this catagory. You dont have to read the bible to be heavily religious.Where do you think they get their illegal guns from? From people like you. Your guns get stolen.

  • @theshadowify Clever-well- not really. I guess I would call that a bit petty and not showing much from you if that was your reply. Perhaps a bit seen as an ad hominem where bad grammar does not equal bad reasoning. In fact, that was what Pres Obama was also doing the same exact thing. The other would be composition as one is common to all. The ATF puts it at 10-15% using stolen guns from the average citizen. True Christians will have a strong desire to know and practice the bible

  • @daveme7 I was not saying that bad grammer equals bad reasoning, I was merely explaining why I did not understand your statement. If only 15% of guns are stolen from average citizens, then where do they get the rest of the illegal guns? Many Christians listen to their preacher instead of reading the bible for themselves. You obviously fit the cliche of gun in one hand and bible in the other.Good Christians practice the bible? It says in the bible to stone gays. Are you a good practicing Christian

  • Been off line. Can I prove any of this? No. Read in papers and magazines as well as other resources when some people were made aware of guns on a train going from point to point and some people showed up and got them-this in LA about 15 yrs ago. When I was in the army, one job I ended up doing was unit armorer with very strict standards. I just think or percieve gun companies do not have the same standards as from the manufacturer to the retailer-showing where everything went is possible

  • @theshadowify Pointing to something that has happened when a lot of guns made it into Mexico because of ...our government trying to catch bad guys in a sting when since President Obama came aling and greatly increased how many guns were going over with the ideal that clamping down pon our own citizens and thankfully-ATF agaents are often pro guns for those who keep the law in our country. Yes I am(well maybe not, but do sure try) to practice my faith. Yes-it commands that in the OT(to be cont)

  • @theshadowify In the law of Moses-thatis commanded. The wholepurpose of the Law of Moses was to show not one person on their own are able to keep the law of God in the Old Covenant(Testament). Only Christ could keep thye law as he fulfilled by not just keeping but also dying in our place on the cross. This instituted a New Covenant(or testament) which supercedes the old and the commands contained including stoning gay people. Believe it or not-had witnessed to quite a few and some became friends

  • The book of Galatians deals with quite a bit of this as well as the book of Hebrews. When I was first saved as a young teen-the very strong desire has breen to be able to study and understand the scriptures as back then-there is a lot more out there and online in 1984. When I say this, I hope i do not offend, it is quite the opposite of what you said. I do not think any of this matters to you as basically-what you said about being a good Christian shows a lot of ignorance of the scriptures

  • @duobroduobro nah, not buyin' it. I think your trying to sound tough cause your little b!!ch at heart. I guess ill believe u when I see you on the news. Happy hunting! Or talkin' about hunting! Hahaha

  • Personally I think owning a bunch of guns proves you're a coward or a paranoid-schitzo. Maybe you gun rights folks should try taking karate classes or boxing. A little training might give you the confidence you seem to be lacking. Or possibly a wooby(baby blanket from Mr. Mom) might help you sleep at night.

  • @nultdog You are misinformed. Read history. Guns aren't about wielding force against your fellow American. It's simultaneously a symbol that the Government can not and should not monopolize the means of cohersion against the People , and a practical tool that teaches disipline and respect while offering personal protection from utter helplessness in the case of crimes against the weak or aged folks who can't take Karate classes to protect themselves against home invasions.

  • @nultdog LMAO you tell 'em. That has always been my take on it. They are a bunch of cowards. Or they just carry guns to make themselves look tough, or intiminate others.

  • None of you are rising up with your guns to do a d**n thing. People on any level who are willing to take violent action against those who they view as their oppressors rarely speak of it and definitely don't brag about it on youtube. Stop kidding us and yourself. Deep down you are a coward and you know it. And so do we! Obama is not trying to take your guns so why don't you find an actual issue that exists back here on planet earth and argue your view-points on that.

  • @nultdog You are an ass. The American revolution was fought by men who vocally proclaimed that they would take up arms and fight against their opressor. Brag? No, it;s called undertanding your country and it's history. Civilian ownership of guns is a symbol that the State can not monopolize the means of cohersion. Which, if the State disolved the current electoral system and started mandating a Religion or forced Sterilization ala China, then you might appreciate the right to armed protest.

  • @nultdog "Oh but that would never happen here, "that's Paranoia ". You will find , historically, that there are movements that wish to "Progress" past the America that you think exists. Globalists believe in a very different ideal than the American one, and in a few generations, things that you think are impossible, could actually come to fruition. You may not see Environmentalism as a State Religion now,but wait 4 the State 2 start weighing your survival against the impact on the Delta Smelt.

  • Hey dumbasses Obama didn't say one thing about guns morons. As well as Obama is for the hardworking. So all you people who can get a job stop fucking complaining. Leave it to the unemployed. I want all kinds of guns and believe to my very soul that we have our god given right to not just have our guns but to protect our family with them and I am also pissed that we cannot go kill our own food. Funny its nature and we have to pay kill our own meat. Also, the homeless cannot legally live.FWY

  • Obama is evil, slick talking dark sninned snake! without our minute man this nation would not exist! he lied constantly, bush all over again im so ashamed i voted for him, duped again! hes disarming us because he know we will rise up against the evil that exists in our government.

  • These people you patronize and more american than your monkey ass. You don't even know what its like to grow up here. Thanks for being president, we'll take another one please.

  • god damn nigger is fucken up the country is bad enuf but bad mouthin the townies fuck up porch monkey

  • as someone who grew up and currently lives in a very small town in Pennsylvania, i dont find this the least bit offensive.

  • Obama thinks we're a bunch of angry, racist, gun-toting, religious extremists ~ Newt Gingrich To Save America

  • @Top40ModernRockPlay Newt Gingrich's To Save America Playlist (Complements Book) Watch this: view_play_list?p=1292855666213526

  • why do the "lunch bucket middle America union people support these democrats ?!

  • @MetalDetroit Because the money hungry republicans will not save us. If you bought Sarah Palin's book, then congratulations you helped make her rich. And what for?

  • @marycory8788 The amazing thing is living in Detroit - I know MANY union people - all democrats. They are opposed to Obama heart and soul, they are the middle America types that Obama demeans - They hate the left - So why do they vote Democrat ? because their union tells them that corporations and Republicans are evil. Never mind that it is the "evil corporations" that give them their jobs.

  • JERK!

  • Gun rights are states rights!

  • @ulsh1 states rights are white power!

oh wait, historical truth slipped out.

In all honesty we need objectivity and a powerful federal government to make sure states dont do stupid shit. its not okay to have racist laws in some states, its not ok to have worker safety laws voided in some states etc.

  • He's saying that people in desperate situations turn to their guns for protection and their religion for hope....there is absolutely nothing wrong or controversial about that.

Some Americans unfortunately don't cling to their brain cells.

  • I love that we have a black man in office GO FUCK YOURSELVES fucking shit kicking hicks damn yokels u know if we wanted we would simply enslave you and pick my cannibis crops

  • this man is an idiot of EPIC preportions . I wore this nations uniform into combat becouse I love my country and it's right's and freedom's. Now here's this asshole who think's he know's what what's best for me ? I think not ! I'll keep my gun's along with everything else thank youvery much ! And i work hard for my money I don't want it given out to peopel who shouldn't even be here to begin with, or used to bail out some other country . !

  • @Herbymac0811 I salute that you served our country. But Obama is not trying to take our guns away, republicans are just trying to scare you to put them back in office so they can control where our money goes to. LIke when bush lied to get us into Iraq. " Weapons of mass destruction" all a lie. And he declared the war in Iraq and Afgan over. Yet Obama just pulled out all of our combat troops out of Iraq so they can go home, and not die for nothing. Support the troops, not bushes oil.

  • @marycory8788 Balive I have never trusted my government no matter who leads it. But I love my country to no end . Democrats have treid time and time again to get the guns by any means they could pass into law even if it was BS. they know they'll never get the guns so now they are going after ammo. They even stoped the military from selling once fired brass to production companies like remington, or winchester to keep it off the open market.

  • @marycory8788 Obama is on record as a gun owner control advocate. He is unable to sign legislation at this time because he knows gun control is a losing issue. Make no mistake about it, if Obama had the power and the votes he would ban and remove as many guns from American households as possible. I think he views widespread gun ownership as a threat to his worldview of increased government power, bureacracy which neccessitates disarming as much of the opposition as possible. Obama pro gun? Pfff!

  • fast forward 2 years and guns and religion comment doesn't seem to far off. i was upset about the comment when it reported, but now it seems all too accurate.

  • Christians sure are clingy!

  • President Fail

  • this is so true. what is the deal with white people clinging to their bible and hand gun afraid of our new leader?

  • "The beauty of the second amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it." ~ Thomas Jefferson ~

  • Great quote!!! hahaha

  • @HistoryBoy23

Thomas Jefferson never said that. That is a made up quote...

  • Obama is a racist.

  • Obama is a nigger, plain and simple....

  • fuck you, racist.

  • Lmao, he's a racist that doesn't care about the working man of the country at all. He just wants to expand government which in term is going to cost the hard working Americans of this country more money because taxes will run through the roof. It's sad that America is turning into a place the condones laziness and the spreading of wealth instead of a place where a dream of becoming something and making something of yourself can come true. May god please get rid of Obama for us.

  • My guns and religion have never failed me. Ivy League politicians who never held a job always let me down on their empty promises.

  • Obama says he is for the common man but yet he can stand there and stereotype the hard-working, small town americans who have made this country great. Hypocritical much?? O_0

  • He's nothing but a racist black man, I'd love to hear what he says when he's not being recorded. How is such a disgusting person running this country and how is he going to say that Small town people are disconnected and beaten down when we are informed and proud. I hate how people defend this Obuma

  • @HistoryBoy23 He isn't stereo typing anyone. He is stating facts people do cling to guns and religion. The biggest statement folks make is the government is going to take away our guns and take away our relgion. Would you like examples?

  • The founders of this country believed in God, Guns, and Gold. The real 3G network!

  • The bourgeois press presented the "they cling to guns or religion quote as anti-working class, yet little attention was given to what preceded it which was a commentary on the abandonment of the working-class by the center-right politics of the past 30 years.

  • we need bush back like laura needs to run over another teen.

  • ive got so much ammo i dont know what to do with it.... god i hope i dont need it

  • kinda makes you want to buy a crate full of 20 mosin nagants don't it?

stupid socialist, its funny that the only thing that matters today is the eloquence of the speaker not the actual content that is being spoken, sad it is, sad it is.

  • As for small towns, I now live in one that is small, West Texan, dry (alchyhol wise) and Bible belt. It is also populated by the information resistant and they all worship Bush. The only concensus is that sex is the only sin.

This one at least IS Hell.

  • hey light 1, check the statistics. Republcans CLAIM they are for small govt but every Repub Admin since WWII has borrowed more money and expanded govt more than the Dems. Having to cover Bush';s signed blank check to his frat bud's on Wall Street may change that but over all this is true, regardless of the BIG LIE.

I am not at all blind to the threat any President can have over us now so don't give me any of your Limbaugh junk.

  • Its true that republicans have gotten away from their conservative values, thats why I'm independent. I think Dems and repubs are all idiots and I think its time to get back to the countries core values in which we were founded upon. If you or anyone has a problem with that than you should go read the constitution and the declaration of independence and tell me those men didn't know what they were talking about. They laid our foundation and its up to us to get back to it.

  • @whitelght9 I love you.

  • The world's greatest bullshitter. Makes Clinton look like a pretender.

  • Make the world a better place.

    Become an Atheist today.

  • the full quote is a bit benign compared to the kick ass sound bite. middle america clinging to religion and guns. even those who hate it have to admit it's true.

  • How's that hope and change working out for you?

  • How is this not racist?

  • Yeah....lol......wait until '12 when the movement votes out your boy bawacko. Then you will be where you have been before 2006. Watching the Republicans in power. Mark it down skippy, its on the way. Republicans in power = prosperity. Democraps in power = suffering. Sure is funny that since the democraps got the power back in '06 we have been in tough times. I know...just coincidence right? Liberal trash.

  • And look at the Obama fanbase ....

  • Obama trying to take away my guns. Well he will have to take my bullets first. The first thing a government does to take over a country is to disarm the country. Next, religion. we have freedom of religion its set in stone. so is the right to bear arms, but apparently liberals cant read.

  • So in rural America we people are losing there jobs to cheap overseas companies the people should not turn to there bible but to government? there guns they cling too also represent hunting for food. Is Obama trying to replace God??

  • What do you mean? Obama "IS" God isn't he? Isn't he going to pay all 'o our mortgages??? Control, control, control...

8 Cylindar SUV's don't kill people... crazy drivers do.

Bullets don't kill people either... crazy people with guns do.

I am not crazy. So let me keep my guns, 8 cylindar cars, and pretty much everything else that is currently legal.

  • We need to give more governmental power BACK to the states and the people. We need to REDUCE the power of the government all-around.

  • @johnbacktun Why so the states can fuck up like they usually do? Let's be clear states receive federal money because they cannot cope on their own without it. States rights is one of the major reason we had segregation for 100 years in this country. States rights is why we have so much usery in this country and the states cannot handle the burden of governing without federal involvement on many levels.

  • @Ryooken The states fuck up like they do because of power corrupt governmental figures that get payed money to do what the big people want. This country was built to be governed by a government that was given its power BY the people.

  • @johnbacktun Correction this country was built by rich land owners not the people. This is why voting rights was reserved for white male land owners. This country has never lived up to the ideals of liberty and justice for all. If it had then slavery would not have existed and the USA wouldn't include all 50 states.

  • @Ryooken Correction, this country was built from the Consitution up to be governed by a government that derived its power from the people It governed, e.g you elected someone that actually fit your beliefs of what the country should be.

Not sure where you get the thing about not including all 50 states, but its bullshit all the same. Slavery existed because of greed and it was abolished by a war that people remember to this day, but it was abolished all the same.

  • @johnbacktun Correction this country has never practiced the constitution. If it had then yes this country would have been build on the principles of liberty and justice instead of greed and avarice. I could quote John Adams but there is no point. Now the 50 states thing is simple if this country had practiced liberty and justice then it would not have stolen 12 out of the 50 states. California, Texas, New Mexico etc. You see principles of liberty don't include stealing.

  • @Ryooken GREAT POST!!!! BOTH OF THEM!!! America likes to HIDE this information as it always has and will shrug it off as we witnessed below because they can't handle being held accounrtable.

  • @ilivebyfacts Thank you I try.

  • @johnbacktun... sorry my friend, but this country was not built of the constitution otherwise there would not have been any slavery to abolish. And we all know abolished legally wise takes a long time to clean out a system use to running it.

People vote for what sounds good. Tea Party and Republicans said jobs will be their focus. Ok. But yet they are after healthcare??????????? I'm sure the unemployed are just sitting around waiting for that right?

  • Weak? I live with cirrhosis and below the poverty level. I'm fortunate to be staying with a good friend of mine who has helped me to get back on my feet, but the rest of my progress has been due to my efforts. I don't want Barack Obama to give me another taxpayer's hard earned money for my medical bills when I'm completely able to raise my own money. I'd rather be self-reliant rather than reliant on the government to bail me out of my problems. That's the coward's way out.

  • Well, did you vote for this man? I didn't. So does it tell you anything? We haven't had a honest election since John F. Kennedy. This NWO farce is going to take your guns and religion away and look at what he said about the banker bailout. " I think we should give them a stake in a world order that we all want to see."

  • Gets yoru facts stright barrey. Western PA had has the BIGGEST industy and job loss collpase in USA history! ANd it recovered faster and better than any other part of the USA that had this same thing to happen. We are the knwo the WORLD leader in Medicine, Education, research.

  • Rural America has produced many, if not most, of our nations snipers due to a proud tradition of hunting and outdoors skills, not to mention strong familial lines of military service. This "bitter america" is what saved Capt. Phillips from the maritime jihadi/mafioso. Not the Ivory tower intelligencia of our privileged class and their indoctrinated subjects.

  • Truth is these things are holding America back;

Weak separation of religion and government hurts things like education and freedom of thought.

Poor gun control: You know it's bad when the Mexican drug cartels are actually smuggling weapons OUT of the US.

  • Religion is holding America back? So standing up for principles and morals and believing that we as human beings can hold ourselves to a higher standard is holding those of you who don't believe or agree with those things back? Now THAT truly IS backward. I could make a very good case argument that liberal progressive ideas are not only backwards but corruptive to America and holding it back from its true potential.

  • You just can't be uneducated to make that remark, but ignorant. You have the worlds greatest historical records at your fingeritps via the internet and you ignore it so you can pick on the Christian religion hoping no one that reads your post will know a lick of history. LOL

  • By putting religion in to the issue, Obama is against both our 1st and 2nd Amendment rights.

  • "If we outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns." this men is trying to make a change in all the wrong place.

  • Hard words, but he's right. People who are long-term unemployed are more likely to become frustrated; it's a normal thing. Frustrated people tend to look for scape goats, which mostly would be foreignors, blacks, jews, gays, the usual minorities!

  • and they tend to vote for young politians who are skilled in telling the masses what they want to hear, who use pagentry, and people's anger over war and loss to get into power. they tend to vote solely on emotion, with no rational sense of reality. sound familar. There were about 50 million of those people or so who came out in droves to allow anger to intervene in the american system. so you are right to an extent.... but they don't always point to minorities as sacapegoats, but to reality.

  • Barack Obama is not right - he is against people who stand up for integrity and he's all for things that will and is already bringing down this country as well as being supportive of weak; gays; pro-abortion; anti-religion; world currency; higher and higher taxes and he has already more than tripled America's deficit more than any other US president in history from Washington to today. Obama is no more right than Bush was.

  • Well sugar, if you make allegations like that you have to back them up. If Obamam hates the U.S., as indicated in your comment (line 2), why did he even bother to run? Why didn't he just move to "socialist Europe" as you and your fellow cons would call it? Just because he has a different approach to handle certain issues doesn't make him anti-American. You're right concerning the spending. But these were long time investments and won't pay off in 1 or 2 years! And don't you support thw weak?

  • First of all, don't patronize me and I never said that Barack Obama hated the US. I wish people would stop putting words in my mouth when I didn't intend for them to be said. Secondly, what I'm saying is that our country is in trouble. Our first priority should have been to fix the damage caused by the housing crisis - but instead Barack Obama took taxpayer's money to support mostly Democrat and liberal agenda grassroot programs that they wanted to get through. Although some Repubs are guilty 2.

  • It was money that was unnecessarily spent to fund programs that could be debated later. The money should have gone to fix the housing and credit crisis that was initially there. But now,he has more than tripled our country's debt (more than Bush, Clinton,Carter, Reagan any American president) and the thing is he is STILL spending more andmore of our money on these programs. But on top of that, he and other likeminded people in Congress who agree with him are using up their time to point fingers.

  • Well, Obama's first priority actually is to fix the damage caused by the housing crisis which would be the entire financial and now economic crisis. The housing market is inseperable from the banking system, so he had to and still is cleaning up the mess within the banks. If better schools, a clean environment and a health care system which even works for the deprived is an "evil" liberal agenda, what does that say about you and your fellow conservatives?

  • Your missing the point - the economy and the whole housing crisis isn't getting better.. its been getting worse. With people being left off, left, right, and sideways. When will people finally realize that the method Obama has been going will only lead to far worse troubles down the road, problems that may never be corrected. Secondly, Obama's idea of a health care system will make today's example look manageable. I think the best thing to have done was go back to square one and work from there.

  • Comment removed

  • Of course the economy and the housing market isn't getting better - yet. I mean Obama has only been in office for approx. 3,5 months and you expect him to revive an economy that has been torn down over the past 10 years in that short period of time? BTW if you think that you didn't intend to say Obama hates or is against America, check your own words: "he is against people who stand up for integrity AND HE'S ALL FOR THINGS THAT WILL AND IS ALREADY BRINGING DOWN THIS COUNTRY"

  • Once again, your putting words in my mouth when I never intended or thought them. I DID say that what Barack Obama is doing is ruining our country, but that doesn't mean I think he hates our country. I think he's being foolish!

  • Of course, I don't expect him to fix this country within 3.5 months - however, I would have expected him to actually put every bit of money into fixing the problem instead of useless stimulus bills -ranging from the enviroment to more liberal (and some Republican) causes. Those are bills that could have been debated and held off till later - they are not critical to fixing our economy.

  • The only problem is we aren't going to get better schools, a clean environment and a health care system which even works for the deprived by embracing any command economy based on looting the productive and placing the incapable in government and their cronies as 'tsars' telling the people what to do and how to do it. But if you want to follow the same model that is driving California, New York and New Jersey to ruin on a national scale, you're only going to get ruin nationally. Deo vindice!

  • hell ya

  • I'll take my guns and my religion...YOU CAN KEEP YOUR CHANGE!
