If you equate religion and spirituality you may have a point. However, if you read the book you will see they are different entities. I define spirituality as a feeling of being connected to something greater than oneself. This can be nature, the universe, family, friends, community, or a supernatural being. Spiritual traits are strongly genetic and probably selected for in evolution because they strengthen social interactions. In a hostile world this could have strong survival value.

First, I know Christ and never have doubts. That is because it is a personal friendship. Atheism claims to be intellectual, but ignores real science: Order and design are never observed coming from chaos, life only comes from life, Cambrian layer shows no evolution, Paleontology= imagination. Which came first: chicken/egg, heart or lungs, DNA or RNA? It takes a protein to make a protein. Atheists have great imagination and create "stories" to explain, but Jesus Christ is Lord - of science too!

You are just the person who should read this book. It clearly answers each of you statements. Ex. The Cambrian was a period of intense and wonderous evolution. Science can explain the origin of life. No lchicken/or egg problem. Protein and nucleic acids evolved together. Science is not anti-Jesus as far as his basic teaching are concerned.

Read "The Jesus Family Tomb" by Jacobovici and Pellegrino and you will see a wonderful melding of science and Christianity. Read the book "Did Man Create God" and you will see how important science is to having a beleif system that is compatible with reason.

I'm sorry, I'm not Christian/Muslim/Jewish, or any of that, but who came up with the bullshit statistic that 95% of the world believe in a personal God? There's like 500 million to a billion hindus and AT LEAST a billion buddhists, although there are probably much more. Even us atheists/agnostics should get our fucking facts straight. Maybe that's why people ridicule us.

My approach to religion is that's it's bullshit. But I accept those that practice some sort of religion, I don't attack them, unless they approach me and try preaching me about religion. I know this way, and I'm not confused at all believing what I believe. Religion was created by humans for humans, and some find refuge in these supernatural beings. Nailed it xD People around me who are religious shake their head when I once pointed out they're brainwashed, and verbally (to an extent they tried to physically) attack me and argue it all back. I thought "god" taught them to forgive others xD Either way, participate to a mass, and try analyzing what's being said and in what way. Surprisingly they repeat the same things all together encouraging each other and they most of the time don't know what it means. My parents didn't nor my uncles.
