kind of scary that coke had a hold on childrens programing back then.. I wonder if they still do.. the note they use is from the Ray Charls era I think.. the note was used in a commerical. does anyone have it or know of one?
My friends and I would be watching this logo when we were kids and we always had a cold bottle of Coca Cola with us. We always said, 'Have a Coke and a smile' when we saw this. Man, I miss my childhood.
@tnawcwvictoria No, Punky Brewster was own by NBC, not Coca-cola Telecommunications, nor Columbia Pictures Television, nor Columbia TriStar Television Distribution, nor Columbia TriStar Domestic Television, and nor Sony Pictures Television.
@bloodshotclam I know that, but I saw this on The Family Channel when they rerun Punky Brewster, but Columbia Pictures Television produced the syndicated version and when you buy Season 4 of Punky Brewster on DVD, then you'll see the Columbia Pictures Television Logo on there from the Coca-Cola Years
Get your sources right, bloodshotclam! Sony owns US television rights to "Punky Brewster"! And this logo DID appear on "Punky Brewster"! It was "Exclusive Distributor" version that was.
The ident tune just makes me want to go and get a coca cola while being scared of the end of a VHS at the same time... (When the VHS just goes to black, the TV ejects it or the WSoD comes up)
I remember this. Used to see this at the end of "The Real Ghostbusters" & "Dinosaucers" a long time ago, when TV was actually more watchable! This was back when Coca-Cola owned Columbia Pictures at the time.
You know, when I was a kid, when I saw this logo it made me thirsty for a Coke or a Minute Maid Orange soda. I always enjoyed seeing this logo after Care Bears went off and then me and my friends would hit the kitchen for something to drink.
I'm very shocked to hear that this was found on DVD being that this logo was extremely rare during it's short limited time and didn't think that it would ever be put on DVD format some 22 years later...It's about time and I'm surprised that Sony didn't decide to keep The Coca-Cola Communications logo on The Real Ghostbusters DVD sets as well...
they always know how to make songs about making people thirsty.
