  • The video is very helpful for my baby wrap. :)

  • This is great! My little one is 6 weeks old and just started with the colic about a week ago. My cousin sent me her wrap carrier and I had NO clue what to do with it. Thank you so much! I will be attempting this first thing tomorrow!

  • @Sabrefan1980 Congratulations! Colic is no fun!! I hope the sling helps you like it did me!!

  • Oh, he does look so happy! He's beautiful!

  • How long were u able to wear him for? My lil guy will be 2mos nxt week but he's already 11lbs! btw, great video

  • @Jamaicanqdee thanks :) My guy was 9LB when he was born ;) I carried him until he was at least 6 months in this.

  • Hi, I live in Thailand and the weather here is hot. I'm thinking of making my own since my little one loves to be carried. He's 3 months next Sunday and already weighs 7.3 kg.

So what's the ideal material for these baby wraps? Stretch cotton jersey or can it be any other stretch material? Your feedback would be appreciated.

  • @WendyTube7100 I'm not 100% sure. Normally they are made with cotton jersey but you may try another stretchy material but make sure it breathes.

  • @SmartHandsCA Thank you! I will stick with the cotton jersey to be safe. I found a manufacture nearby that will sell me 6 yards. Gonna give it a try.

  • Thanks for the closed caption! Appreciate it. The video is very helpful for my baby wrap. :)

  • I used a fleece "pouch" for my youngest. (Not the recalled kind, mine was from KangarooKorner) It is much easier to use and does the same thing. But my sister in law had a wrap like this and loved it. It's too much work for me. lol My youngest really loved his pouch and I "wore" him everywhere. These kind of things make life so much easier for Mommy and Baby! Great instructional video!

  • Hello, Great Video. I cant get the wrap shipped to where I am in asia. I was thinking of making my own. You said the length is 10ft. How about the width? Could you pls give me the exact size of it like 10ft by ___ ft? That would help me out tons. Thanks. Lavi.

  • @lavinders I'm sorry for the delay in responding to this, it just showed up now!! I don't imagine you would use it now but I think it's about 4ft wide.

  • thanks for the help, i was having trouble trying to use this baby wrap. my baby loves it.

  • I make these kinds of Wraps mine are called Cuddle Me Close Baby Wraps and they are only $25 each if anyone would like to get one you can order one on my website! Feel Free to call or text me at 816-337-2280

  • Thank you

  • Why don't I have a woman like this ?

    It's not fair.......

  • How young can a baby be carried sitting down/standing up like that?

  • @adelladi You can do it from newborn.

  • @SmartHandsCA- form Newborn? how about the baby neck that is not so strong enough to carry their head...

  • @TheJulie22x You tuck their head into the pocket you make so it is supported by the material.

  • @SmartHandsCA Thanks for the info :)

  • i don't even have a child but it was pretty interesting.

  • I have a moby wrap as well.

I've had trouble with it... it gets really loose and Emmy starts

sagging down at my hips after about 20 minutes...

Do you think I should tie it tighter? I find the middle band (kind of seat belt)

doesn't support her bottom much.. What do you think?

  • @AllyTomoBaby Yes, definitely tie it tighter. That was the same problem I had when I started using mine. You'll need to experiment a bit at first but then you'll start to know how it should feel. Because it does stretch you need to tie it tighter than you think.

  • How old is to old to carry a baby in it?

My son is 10months old, 28lbs, and very tall. I don't know if I should put him in it cause I'm afraid since he's so mobile now he'll jump right out. Is there anything out there that I can buy for my 10 month old baby.

  • @MrsStopMotion I loved this carrier when my son was young. Now I love carrying him in the Ergo carrier. It is so comfortable and has been really worth the money. I still carry my son on my front and he is 12 months old. I used this same carrier with my daughter on my back up until she was almost 3 years. It is VERY comfortable!

  • @SmartHandsCA Thanks! This really helped. I'll definetly check out the Ergo carrier.

  • Brilliant video. Well done and thank you so much.

  • Excellent video! This is almost exactly the same carry I use with my wrap, which I made myself, and it is my best friend!

  • Oh! Hartford is so big and chubby and cute!

I think the wrao looks lovely, seems very confortable, but here, in Brazil's super hot summer, I don't think I'd be able to use it... So we are going well with our ordinary ring sling... Lilla is is petite, wich helps. Her weight is still confortable in one shoulder.

Kisses from Rio to Fireese and little Hartford!

  • I also loved my ring sling, especially in hot weather! Here is Canada where it is cold this carrier works great! Thanks for your well wishes :-)

    Laura, Fireese, Hartford (and daddy)

  • he smiles at the end of the video to say "Yes, i love this."

  • haha.. jangguemfan.. i dont think u will still think like that after having a baby. its tiring actually to take care of them, need extra energy and a lot of patient.

  • how old is your baby boy??

  • He's almost 4 months now, :-)

  • Aww! What a lovely baby... Fireese must be so happy =)

    Congratulations to you all.

  • Oh, and I've also tried the cradle carry, but my son really dislikes it. And I can't try any other hold besides those two, because he can't hold up his head on his own yet. Any tips would be appreciated!

  • I had a love/hate relationship with it when I first started using it :-) My son didn't like the cradle hold unless I was nursing and then he would fall asleep in it. Are you nursing or bottle feeding? You can try nursing him in that position if you are. When you do the hug hold you can tuck his head into the fold instead of leaving it out. My son would squirm at first but he'd settle pretty fast. You need to tie it tighter than you think you do. Try it a few times with a doll for practice.

  • Hi, I have a Moby wrap, and I sort of have a love/hate relationship with it. Does your son ever have a problem with wanting to lie back with his head rather than forward, so that you end up having to support it with your hand? Also, is your son ever so squirmy in the wrap that it gets loosened, and it seems like he is in danger of popping out? With my son, this especially happens when he stands up. I so want to love my Moby, but I find it sort of stressful using it sometimes.

  • Awesome!! I will definitely resort back to this video when I have a baby... you mentioned you may post more ways to carry, that would be awesome! This looks cheaper and more comfortable than other baby carriers I have seen... and I'm sure once you get used to it it probably becomes fairy easy to use.

  • omg I LOOOOOOVE that you have subtitles on your vids. Made me verrrry happy to see that :)

  • OMG he is so cute! COngrats!

  • Hi Hartford, very close to your mummy huh... Oh, can't wait to have a baby and carry her all the time.

  • awesome! thx for sharing. and God bless ur baby he is beautiful! =)

  • I will definately invest in a wrap when I have babies.. I have shared the link with a few of my friends... It would have been useful for my sister in law when she had her baby and her baby always liked being held...

  • quick question.... how old does the baby have to be?

  • Newborn and up. You can do different carries with this one (I'll post more later). You can front carry with legs out and baby facing out, hip carry, back carry.

If you are carrying a newborn you tuck his head into the fold (where I tuck his shoulder in. I wore this with my son since he was born and it honestly saved my sanity as he ALWAYS wanted to be held :-)

  • My son was the same way as a newborn. I had a sling, but as you mentioned in another comment, it killed my back and shoulder because of the uneven weight.

I plan on having another one, and am so glad to see such a detailed video explanation to how to use this kind of wrap. Thanks so much!

  • Thanks! And he looked at the camera at the end. :)

  • Thanks for including the captioning here. Just add it on my fave list. I plan to show this vlog to all Deaf parents. Love love love all kinds of videos you uploaded, very resourceful.

Congrats! didn't know you have a son, Hartford. How sweet!

  • Thanks :-)

    I appreciate your comment!!

  • aw those looks cool to use!

  • Hi Laura,

Did you use to carry Fireese in a wrap too when she was younger?

Hartford is soo patient :) Most young babies don't like the process of being put into a wrap, they just like being in there afterwards :)

  • I didn't have one with Fireese, I used a sling. I love the sling as well but couldn't carry her as long because all the weight was on one shoulder. I love this one because it goes over both shoulders and around the back for nice support. And he is right up against my chest. :-)
